This document outlines the requirements for selling Automotive Parts on TikTok Shop. These requirements are in place to ensure product safety, legal compliance, and a trustworthy customer experience. Automotive parts are also subject to our Restricted Products Policy. Sellers must comply with both this document and the Restricted Products Policy when listing automotive parts.Key Points:

Requirements To Sell Automotive Parts
You may be required to pass category qualification to sell Automotive Parts. This process requires submitting documents proving you are qualified to sell these products.Detailed requirements are listed in the sections below. Open each section to view what is needed.
Lighting
This section applies to road-legal automotive lighting products. These products must be marked as road-legal. This means they meet safety and technical requirements for use on public roads.These products include, but are not limited to:
Headlight Components

All Sellers
If you apply to sell automotive lighting products — whether you manufacture, import, repack, or resell them — you may be required to submit the following:Photo of Department of Transportation (DOT) Marking on Product or Packaging
Sellers must provide a clear photo showing the DOT marking on the product or its packaging.- The marking may appear directly on the product or on the packaging.
- The marking must be clearly visible and legible.
Gas Supply
This category covers components used to safely deliver, control, and connect gas in motorhomes. This includes, but is not limited to:- Hoses
- Regulators
- Fittings
- Valves
- Connectors
- Related safety devices
Manufacturers, Importers, And Repackers
If you apply to sell gas supply products you manufacture, import, or repackage, you may need to submit the following:Certification of Compliance or Conformity (COC)
Manufacturers, repackers, and importers may need to provide a valid COC that:- Was issued within the last 2 years
- Matches the product category
- Clearly describes the product tested
- Lists all safety standards tested
- Includes the name and address of the accredited laboratory
- Matches the product shown in submitted photos
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Test Report
Manufacturers, repackers, and importers may need to provide a valid ANSI test report showing compliance with one or more of the following standards:- ANSI Z21.54 - Flexible metal connectors for gas appliances
- ANSI Z21.69 - Connectors for outdoor gas appliances
- ANSI A119.2 / National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1192 - RV manufacturing standard (includes gas systems)
DOT Test Report
Manufacturers, repackers, and importers may need to submit proof of DOT compliance with applicable requirements, including:- 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 178 - Specifications for gas cylinders, piping, and hoses
- 49 CFR Part 393.67 - Compressed gas system components in motor vehicles
Product Photos Showing American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Compliance
Submit clear product photos showing markings that indicate compliance with:- ANSI Z21.54
- ANSI Z21.69
- ANSI A119.2 / NFPA 1192
Resellers
If you are applying to sell gas supply as a reseller, you may need to submit the following documents:Purchase Invoice
Resellers may need to provide a legible purchase invoice issued by the manufacturer. The invoice must:- Include the supplier's company name and address
- Clearly describe the product and match the listing
- Be issued within the last 365 days
- Be written in a language supported by TikTok Shop

Oils and Fluids

If you apply to sell automotive oils or fluids that you manufacture, import, or repackage, you may need to submit the following:Product Photos
Product photos must clearly show:- Performance or compatibility claims (what the product does or is used for)
- Batch number, lot number, or product identifier
- Manufacturer name and contact information
- Net weight or volume
- Instructions for use
Additional Compliance Documentation
Depending on the product type, you may also need to provide documents confirming compliance with applicable standards or labeling rules:Fuel additives
- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Additive Registration Number (ARN) or an EPA registration letter
- Note: Catalytic converter fluids are prohibited and cannot be sold.
- Certificate of Conformity showing compliance with DOT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) 116 for the stated DOT grade
- Specification sheet confirming denatonium benzoate (bitterant) is added, where required
- Specification or grade sheet showing International Organization for Standardization Viscosity Grade (ISO VG) or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) viscosity grade
- Specification or grade sheet showing American Petroleum Institute Gas Lubricant (API GL) classification (for example, GL-4 or GL-5)
- Specification sheet with usage instructions and neutralization capacity
Resellers
If you apply to sell automotive oils or fluids as a reseller, you may need to submit the following:Product Photos
Product photos must clearly show:- Performance or compatibility claims
- Batch number, lot number, or product identifier
- Manufacturer name and contact information
- Net weight or volume
- Instructions for use
Purchase Invoice
Submit a legible purchase invoice from the manufacturer or an authorized distributor. The invoice must:
- Include the supplier's company name and address
- Clearly describe the product and match the listing
- Be issued within the last 365 days
- Be written in a language supported by TikTok Shop
State-Specific Considerations
Sellers must comply with all state and local laws where products are sold and shipped.California Proposition 65
- Products must meet applicable warning and labeling requirements.

- Labels must accurately show net weight or volume.
- Brake fluid labels must display correct net weight or volume.
- Fuel additives sold in California must be compliant or exempt.
- Some states (including CA, NJ, AZ, and WI) require antifreeze to contain denatonium benzoate.
- Sellers must confirm the manufacturer has added this bitterant.
Motorcycle Helmets
This section outlines the requirements for selling motorcycle helmets.Manufacturers, Importers, And Repackers
If you are applying to sell motorcycle helmets you manufactured, imported, or repacked, you may need to submit the following documents:Certification of Compliance or Conformity (COC)
Manufacturers, repackers, and importers must provide a valid COC that:- Was issued within the last 2 years

- Clearly describes the tested product and its specifications
- Includes the name and address of the accredited testing laboratory
- Matches the product shown in submitted photos
Test Report

- Snell M-2010 (Certified motorcycle helmets), or
- Snell M-2015 (Certified motorcycle helmets)

Resellers

Enforcement Actions and Appeals
Claiming electrical safety without approved testing or certification violates these requirements. Tests and certifications must come from recognized electrical safety or Federal Communications Commission (FCC) laboratories. Products are also in violation if they have inaccurate or fraudulent labeling.We regularly review your shop's compliance with this document and our Restricted Products Policy. If any violations are identified, enforcement action may be taken at our sole discretion. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Rejecting your category qualification application
- Deducting points from your account health
- Removing product listings
