Product overview

AI photo maker is an AI-powered tool in Seller Center that helps you create Shoppable Carousel content with minimal effort. Instead of shooting product photos or hiring designers, you can let AI generate scroll-stopping images from your existing product listings, then edit and refine them before publishing.
Benefits
  • No production cost: Generate professional-looking product images directly from your product listings without photography or design work
  • Test products quickly: Create content for new SKUs in minutes to validate demand before investing more
  • Creative control with prompts: Guide the AI with text prompts and reference photos for more accurate results
  • Edit without starting over: Refine any generated image using the built-in editing tools (area selection, text instructions, and reference photos)

How AI Photo Maker works

  1. Navigate to AI photo maker: In Seller Center, go to LIVE & video > Shoppable videos > AI photo maker
  2. Select products: Choose the products you want to create images for
  3. Choose a style template: Pick from available templates (lifestyle scenes, clean backgrounds, model shots, etc.) that best suits your product category or share a TikTok account link as inspiration.
  4. Add a prompt (optional): Write a text description to guide the AI on what you want (e.g., "outdoor summer setting with natural lighting")
  5. Generate: Click generate and wait for AI to produce your images.
  6. Preview and select: Review the generated images by navigating to view within "Photo projects." Select at least 2 images to enable the "Post on TikTok" button. Hover over any image to zoom in or open the editor.
  7. Edit if needed: If an image needs adjustments, click "Edit photo" to refine it (see editing section below)
  8. Finalize: Once you are satisfied with your selection, click "Post on TikTok." This will open up the next step where you can select what products to link, re-arrange your photos, write your description, update your hashtag, update your music, and edit your posting preferences.

How to edit AI-generated photos

If a generated image has an issue or you want to adjust part of it, you do not need to delete it and start over. Use the built-in photo editor to make targeted changes.
Editing tools available:
  1. Select area (brush tool)
    • Click "Select area" to activate the brush
    • Draw over the specific part of the image you want to change
    • Adjust brush size for precision
    • Use undo/redo to refine your selection
    • Click "Cancel" to clear and start over
    • If you skip this step, your instructions will apply to the full image
  2. Edit instructions
    • In the text box, describe what you want the AI to change
    • Be specific: "change the background to a kitchen counter" works better than "make it look different"
    • The Generate button stays disabled until you enter instructions
  3. Reference photo
    • Click "+ Reference photo" to upload an image that shows the AI the look you want
    • Upload from your local files or pick from your asset library
    • Useful when you have a specific background, lighting style, or composition in mind
After generating your edit:
  • A placeholder appears while the new image is created
  • The edited image appears at the front of your set with an "Edited" label
  • You can select it for posting or edit it again for further refinements
  • All generated and edited images are saved to your content library

Tips

  • Write specific prompts: "White ceramic mug on a marble countertop with morning light" gives much stronger results than "nice photo of a mug"
  • Use the brush tool for targeted edits: Select only the area that needs fixing. The AI preserves everything outside your selection for more natural results.
  • Upload a reference photo when you have a target look: This dramatically improves accuracy, especially for backgrounds and styling.
  • Iterate: You can re-edit an already-edited image. Do not settle on the first result if it is not quite right.
  • Start with your top sellers and new arrivals: Products with clear, high-quality listing images produce stronger AI-generated results.
