What is the made-to-order feature?

Made-to-order is a new listing option available for eligible products that require additional handling time to produce. Handling time refers to the number of business days required for a seller to fulfill/process an order and hand it over to the selected shipping carrier.
Sellers can enable the made-to-order feature and set a handling time between 3 - 14 business days to offer greater flexibility than the standard 2-day dispatch SLA.

What are the benefits？

1. Enhance your flexibility: Making it easier for sellers who create made-to-order products to sell them on TikTok Shop.
2. Generate more sales: Offering extended handling time for made-to-order products creates opportunities to offer additional products that previously could not be sold due to the current 2-day dispatch SLA.
3. Reduce inventory and costs: Eliminating the need for storing a large inventory of products will decrease storage costs and minimize the risk of unsold stock.

Made-to-order guidelines

The made-to-order feature does have some usage restrictions:

• If TikTok Shop detects products using the made-to-order feature for non-customized products, the feature will be disabled, and the shop may face even more severe penalties
• The made-to-order feature cannot be enabled if a seller has the pre-order feature active
• Made-to-order products must be updated to the "In Transit" status 1 business day after the specified handling time to meet our dispatch SLA policy

Who is eligible？

To enable the made-to-order feature, the eligibility criteria below need to be met:

• Achieve and maintain a Shop Performance Score (SPS) ≥ 3.5
• Have an Account Health Rating (AHR) > 150
• Not under Temporary Account Restriction Requirements
• Do not have any Intellectual Property Policy violations
• No severe violations

When a seller meets all eligibility requirements, they can enable the feature on the Fulfillment Performance page in Seller Center. If a seller no longer meets the above criteria, access to the feature may be removed.

How to enable the made-to-order feature

Before creating a Made-to-Order listing, you must first enable Made-to-Order at the shop level in Seller Center.

1. Log into Seller Center
2. Navigate to Fulfillment Performance page
3. Review the feature requirements and turn on Made-to-Order for your shop

Once activation is complete, you can create new listings with Made-to-Order handling time. If the option is not available, your shop may not currently meet the eligibility requirements.

How to set up a made-to-order listing

To start using made-to-order, log into Seller Center, click Products on the left-hand navigation bar, select Manage Products, and Add new product.

1. Fill out product details and ensure the product matches one of the approved made-to-order categories

The made-to-order toggle will only show up if one of the eligible product categories is selected.

2. Enable made-to-order and input the expected handling time

Check the box next to Enable made-to-order, then enter your desired handling time (must be between 3-14 business days).

How to change handling time for specific SKUs

• If applicable, sellers can change the handling time depending on SKU. Sellers must first turn on the Enable Variations toggle and add relevant SKUs.
• Sellers can input a handling time for each SKU added by clicking Made-to-order under the Selling column for a specific SKU. Sellers can also turn off the made-to-order option by clicking Made-to-order under the Selling column for that SKU, and selecting Regular as the selling option.

How do customers know a product is made-to-order?In the Shipping & returns section of the product detail page (PDP), customers will see a callout stating "Made-to-order, includes production time."
This callout will also include the estimated delivery date, which will be based on the products specified handling time.
Are there any alerts for customers that they are placing a made-to-order instead of a standard order?During checkout, customers will see an additional callout in the "Shipping method" section that states the item is "Made-to-order" along with the estimated delivery date.
