Virtual Bundles
AI Summary
Virtual Bundles is a whitelist-only feature that lets sellers sell existing products together without physically bundling them, with support for sales/review inheritance, cross-warehouse fulfillment, and split-package shipping in some cases. Check Seller Center for the feature entry; if it’s missing, contact your Account Manager. Additional allowlisting may be required for cross-warehouse, split-package, multi-tracking, or FBT multi-FC use, and some product types remain unsupported.
- This feature is currently in the whitelist phase. Some sellers have already joined the allowlist. You can check the function entrance introduced in the article to see if the function already exists. If not, please contact your Account Manager.
Product Overview
Virtual Bundles refers to a group of existing products that are sold together as a single package, but the items are not physically bundled together in a warehouse. With Virtual Bundles, sellers will be able to:- Increase average order value: Encourage shoppers to purchase additional products they might not have initially considered.
- Increase customer satisfaction: Shoppers can conveniently purchase complementary products together, saving time and effort.
- Clear out old inventory: Make slow-moving products more appealing to shoppers by bundling them with more popular products.
1. Feature Introduction
- Definition: What is a virtual bundle? It's a combination of multiple existing products sold together, but they don't need to be physically packaged in the warehouse, meaning no physical bundling is required.
- Availability: The feature is in a whitelist phase.
- How to Apply: Strategic key sellers are automatically configured periodically. For other sellers who need to enable it or confirm their eligibility, AMs can register in the tables below:
2. What are the functions of a virtual bundle?
- Cross-product bundled selling: Sell different types of products together, such as clothes + pants or foundation + lipstick. Products in the bundle must be ordered together; buyers cannot order only one individual item.
- Same-product bundled selling: For example, multi-pack versions of the same product.
- Cross-warehouse fulfillment is supported. FBT cross-warehouse fulfillment is fully supported. For 3/4PL split-package or cross-warehouse fulfillment, an additional allowlist request must be submitted to the AM.
- Sales volume and reviews can be inherited.
- Split-package fulfillment for bulky products: Child products in a virtual bundle can be shipped from different warehouses, subject to an additional allowlist. For bulky products such as sofas or air conditioners that naturally contain multiple parts and need to be shipped in multiple packages, the platform currently only allows one tracking number in normal fulfillment mode. This can easily lead to buyer complaints such as missing orders, missing items, or incorrect shipments. In this case, virtual bundle pairing can support split-package fulfillment for bulky products, and buyers can see tracking for multiple packages.
- More use cases are being iterated. Stay tuned.
3. How to Create a Virtual Bundle
Three Ways to Create Virtual Bundles| Feature Type | Creation Dimension | Who Selects the Bundle Specifications | Buyer Flexibility | Suitable Seller Types | Buyer-side Style | PDP Style |
| Product Virtual Bundle: virtual bundle at product level | Product level | Selected by buyer | High | Sellers select multiple products to combine at product level, while buyers independently choose the exact specifications of each product. For example, a buyer can choose Product A size S with Product B size M, offering higher flexibility.Use cases: apparel, shoes and bags, beauty sets, and other multi-specification product combinations.Features: the seller determines the range of products included in the bundle, while buyers freely select specifications. Suitable for sellers with many SKUs and diverse pairing needs. | ![]() ![]() | Multiple products are displayed as a bundle. Buyers can click each product to select its specifications and complete the pairing. |
| SKU Virtual Bundle: virtual bundle at SKU level | SKU level | Pre-fixed by seller | Low | Sellers create fixed combinations in advance at SKU level. For example, SKU A + SKU B is set as a fixed bundle for sale. Buyers can only purchase the preset combination and cannot adjust the specifications themselves.Use cases: fixed packages, standardized gift boxes, official recommended combinations.Features: the bundle content is locked by the seller in advance, and the buyer selection path is simple. Suitable for sellers with fewer specification combinations and stable pairing relationships. | ![]() | Each bundle SKU is displayed directly as SKUs. |
| Add a bundle-option SKU: add a virtual bundle SKU under the original product | SKU level | Pre-fixed by seller | Low | Used to sell multi-packs under the original product, or combinations among SKUs under the same original product. Cross-product bundles are not currently supported here. For example, a SKU under a clothing product cannot temporarily include a clothing + pants bundle SKU. | ![]() | Add a same-product bundle or multi-pack SKU to the original product SKUs. For example, if the product originally has SKU A, SKU B, and SKU C, you can add bundle options such as:
|
1. Product Virtual Bundle
Also named “Buyer custom bundle”: The seller only needs to select which products can be combined. During purchase, buyers can flexibly mix and match SKUs themselves (this will generate a new product PID). The buyer-facing frontend looks as follows:| Step | Purpose | Illustration | Possible issues and notes | Buyer-facing frontend |
| Find the entry point | Start creation | ![]() |
| ![]() ![]() |
| Bundle selection step | Select relevant products for bundle setup | ![]() |
| |
| Rule configuration step | Set rules for bundle price, inventory, and SKU | ![]() |
|
2. SKU Virtual Bundle
The seller predefines at the SKU level which SKUs can be combined. Buyers cannot freely choose their own combinations.| Step | Purpose | Operation (GIF) | Possible issues | Buyer-facing frontend |
| Creation step | Predefine at the SKU level which SKUs can be combined; buyers cannot choose freely | ![]() |

3. Same-product multi-pack bundles
| Use case | Example | Operation (GIF) | Possible issues |
| Scenario 1: Add a same-product bundle SKU under an existing product listing | A clothing product already has one white SKU and one red SKU. You want to add a 2-pack white bundle, a 3-pack red bundle, or a red+white combo bundle. | ![]() |
|
| Scenario 2: Create a new same-product bundle listing that supports buyer mix-and-match | For example, a lipstick has 5 shades. Create a bundle listing for 2 lipsticks of the same product, while allowing buyers to freely mix and match shades. | ![]() |
|
| Scenario 3: Create a new same-product bundle listing where buyers can directly order an X-pack, but cannot mix and match freely | For example, a clothing product has black, white, and gray colors. Create a bundle where buyers can purchase 3 black pieces at once, or 3 white pieces at once. | ![]() |
|
| Scenario 4: Create a new same-product bundle listing where buyers can directly order an X-pack, but cannot mix and match freely | For example, a clothing product has black, white, and gray colors. Create a bundle where buyers can purchase 3, 4, or 5 pieces at one time. | ![]() |
|
4. How virtual bundles inherit sales and reviews
If you want to create a virtual bundle product while still keeping the original product's sales and review information, you can create the bundle by converting a regular product into a virtual bundle.| Use case | Example | Operation (GIF) | Things you may need to pay attention to |
| When creating a virtual bundle product, you want to retain the original product's sales and reviews | It is now supported to flexibly switch among regular products, SKU-level bundles, and PID-level bundles. Please note⚠️⚠️⚠️: switching will cause the SKU ID to change, which may lead to the following impacts:
| Seller Center → Products → Manage Products → “Three dots/…” on the right side of the target product |
|
5. How to bundle non-sale items (gifts) in a virtual bundle
Child products in a virtual bundle can include gifts and non-sale items. You only need to create the “non-sale item” normally first (as shown below), and then select the relevant non-sale item on the product selection page during bundle setup.
4.Split-Package Shipment for Bundled Products
1. Splitting Packages from the Same Warehouse
- Splitting packages requires an additional whitelist: Please have your AM apply at Virtual Bundles<->Multi-tracking feature Shop id.
- Seller API documentation for package splitting/after-sales upgrade: See Virtual Bundle Split Order Shipping API Upgrade Introduction Document
- What happens if I don't upgrade?
- If the seller doesn't normally use the API, there is no impact.
- If the seller uses the API for automatic shipping, after-sales, etc., without upgrading, they can only handle shipping and after-sales manually in the Seller Center.
- What happens if I don't upgrade?
| Stage | Description (Illustration. Subject to the final UI implementation) | ||
| Click the Split Package button on the Order Details page, and a sidebar will appear. Items remain grouped by main product according to the current layout. You can choose to split the order into multiple packages at the main product level or by individual sub-SKUs listed under each main product.![]() | ![]() | ![]() After splitting, the Manage Orders page will display product quantities calculated at the SKU level:
|
| You can directly split an order into multiple packages by individual sub-SKU for shipment. The order list will show only the image and quantity of the main product. Clicking it will expand to show the full main product + sub-SKU details | ![]() | |
| If sub-SKUs in your virtual bundle are stored in different warehouses, the system will automatically split the order into multiple packages without the need for your manual operation. These split orders will be displayed directly in your Seller Center | ![]() | |
| ![]() | ![]() |
2、Batch Virtual Bundle Order Splitting Function
This update introduces support for batch splitting Virtual Bundle orders. You can select multiple orders that need to be split, with a maximum of 50 orders at a time, and then click Batch Split to proceed.
Please note:
- If an order contains multiple Virtual Bundle items, each item will be displayed in a separate Group and must be split individually.
- If an order contains both Virtual Bundle items and non-Virtual Bundle items, after the Virtual Bundle items are split, the remaining non-Virtual Bundle items will automatically be placed into a separate package. They will not be combined with any of the packages created from the Virtual Bundle split.
- You need to click Batch Split for each Virtual Bundle Group to complete the splitting process.

3. Splitting Packages from Different Warehouses
The operational steps are the same as above5. Special Section: Large Item Package Splitting Operation
- Difference between large items and regular combination products: A large item is itself a single SKU that needs to be split into multiple packages for shipping (e.g., a 7-piece sofa set in red). Originally, one order for it would need to be split into three packages (e.g., 2+3+2). Another example is an air conditioner, which requires the indoor and outdoor units to be shipped in separate packages.
Case 1: Hope to inherit original product's sales and reviews
In this case, the seller needs to use the "Convert standard product to virtual bundle product" feature. See Section 8 of the feature guide: Virtual Bundle Feature Guide. A virtual bundle created by converting an original listing will retain the original listing's sales, reviews, and PID.- How to do it: Take a "7-piece sofa set" that needs to be shipped in 3 packages as an example. Suppose the sofa has 7 parts: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and for daily shipping, it needs to be split into three packages: A+B, C+D+E, and F+G. These 7 parts might not be sold individually (it's better if they can be).

| ![]() ![]() |
Case 2: No need to inherit sales and reviews
The only difference is the entry point for creating the virtual bundle. In this case, you do not need to use the "Convert to virtual bundle" method.Simply go to the "Create Product" entry point and choose "Add virtual bundle". The remaining steps are the same, but for large items, you still need to create a new product listing and repeat the steps from "Case 1".

6. Virtual Bundle FAQ
1. Bundle Configuration Questions
- What is the difference between this and the "Combine Listing" feature?
- Combine listing (also known as "互链") just aggregates the same product on one product detail page. Product A can link to Product B, but they cannot be purchased together. It's essentially for consolidating traffic for the same product, not for selling them as a bundle.
- Which products do not support creating virtual bundles?
- Pre-order, back-order, and non-saleable sample products are temporarily not supported for virtual bundle configuration.
- If a product already has a subscription set up, can it be converted to a virtual bundle?
- If a product has an active subscription, the subscription will not be transferred to the virtual bundle after conversion. Please proceed with caution.
- How are the category and attributes of a virtual bundle determined?
- The category of a virtual bundle product is determined by the category of the main product selected within the bundle. Similarly, the bundle's attributes (including keywords) will be based on the main product. This choice affects the bundle's traffic.
- Can a single product SKU belong to multiple virtual bundles?
- Yes, a product ID can be referenced by up to 50 virtual bundle groups.
- Why do some products have the "Change to virtual bundle" option while others don't?
- Products like gifts, second-hand luxury goods, etc., do not support conversion.
- Products that are already sub-items in a bundle do not support conversion.
- Products that POP sellers have cross-listed from other countries do not support conversion.
- Why can't some products be added to a virtual bundle?
- Pre-order, back-order, and non-saleable gift products are temporarily not supported.
- How do I fulfill and track my virtual bundles?
- Virtual bundles can only be created through TikTok Shop Seller Center. Sellers can fulfill and track their orders in three ways: through Seller Center, TikTok Shop APIs, or the Shopify 1P App.
- TikTok Shop Seller Center: List the product as explained in the section above, then fulfill and track it in Seller Center as you would with your other products.
- TikTok Shop API: This requires in-house developer resources to integrate with the TikTok Shop partner platform. Please contact your Account Manager to set up a meeting with TikTok Shop tech support before using the API. See here for more details.
- Shopify 1P App: No in-house developer resources are required. Sellers can use the Shopify 1P app to fulfill orders and manage reconciliation. For assistance, people reach out to your Account Manager.
- The allowed Level 1 Categories that can be combined in Virtual Bundles includes:
- Automotive & Motorcycle ;Sports & Outdoor ;Home Improvement;Tools & Hardware;Kitchenware ;Toys & Hobbies;Furniture;Baby & Maternity;Food & Beverages;Household Appliances;Home Supplies;Phones & Electronics;Womenswear & Underwear
- Pet Supplies;Fashion Accessories;Beauty & Personal Care;Computers & Office Equipment;Jewelry Accessories & Derivatives;Textiles & Soft Furnishings;Health;Collectibles ;Kids' Fashion;Menswear & Underwear;Luggage & Bags
2. Bundle and Logistics Related Questions
- If one of the multiple packages in a split shipment is delayed, will it affect the shipping time for the entire order?
- Yes, it will. It is recommended that none of the multiple packages exceed the shipping deadline.
3. Bundle and Traffic Related Questions
- Will converting a standard product to a virtual bundle product affect its traffic?
- Traffic is affected by multiple factors such as major promotions and price competitiveness. When converting a standard product to a virtual bundle, the reviews and sales will be inherited, and the PID will not change. Sellers can also try to keep attributes, categories, etc., unchanged to minimize the impact on traffic.
4. Bundle and Affiliate/Creator Related Questions
- After converting a standard product to a virtual bundle, can creators still request samples normally?
- After the old listing is converted to a virtual bundle, the creator sample for the old listing will show as deleted or discontinued.
5 Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) FAQs
- After converting an existing hard bundle to a virtual bundle in Seller Center, how can I fulfill it under FBT? What are the key inventory considerations?
- 1. Steps for Fulfilling the New Virtual Bundle in FBT (After Converting Hard Bundle to Virtual Bundle in Seller Center) Once you create the virtual bundle and define its sub-SKUs in Seller Center, two scenarios apply:
- Scenario 1: Sub-SKUs are already matched in FBT with Goods IDs.
- No additional action is required. FBT will fulfill the virtual bundle automatically as long as they are matched in FBT and the sub-SKU inventory is allocated to the same FCs in FBT.
- To confirm if Sub-SKUs are already matched in FBT, and have goods created go to FBT > Goods (refer to this guide for more information).
- Scenario 2: Sub-SKUs are not matched in FBT yet or No Goods Ids created in FBT
- Log in to the FBT Merchant Portal >> Goods >> Create Goods
- Create the necessary Goods in FBT and match them to the sub-SKUs.
- Once matched, FBT will be able to fulfill the virtual bundle.
- Scenario 1: Sub-SKUs are already matched in FBT with Goods IDs.
- 1. Steps for Fulfilling the New Virtual Bundle in FBT (After Converting Hard Bundle to Virtual Bundle in Seller Center) Once you create the virtual bundle and define its sub-SKUs in Seller Center, two scenarios apply:
- 2. Old Hard Bundle Inventory Considerations After completing the virtual bundle conversion to hard bundle action in Seller Center as shared earlier in this guide, it’s important to understand how your existing FBT inventory will be affected and managed.
- Scenario 1: The hard bundle is currently fulfilled by FBT
- If your existing hard bundle SKU was already matched to a Goods ID in FBT, converting it to a virtual bundle in Seller Center will automatically delete the original hard bundle SKU and mark it as unmatched in FBT.Note, the historical reviews will be retained and synced on the PID level as highlighted earlier in the conversion feature.
- Once unmatched, the inventory will no longer be sellable unless you create a new hard bundle list.
- You can view unmatched goods in the Goods Management section of the FBT portal.

- Scenario 2: The hard bundle is not currently fulfilled by FBT
- If the original hard bundle was never fulfilled in FBT and no FBT inventory exists, there will be no impact on FBT inventory during the conversion.
- After converting my existing virtual bundle to a hard bundle in Seller Center, how can I fulfill it under FBT ? What are the key inventory considerations?
- Steps for Fulfilling the new Hard Bundle in FBT (After Converting Virtual Bundle to Hard Bundle/Individual Product in Seller Center) To enable FBT fulfillment for the new hard bundle SKU:
- 1. Create a new Goods ID for the hard bundle in the FBT portal and match the Goods Id to the new hard bundle SKU that was created in Seller Center.
- 2. Go to FBT Merchant Portal >> Goods >> Create Goods >> find SKU and match goods. Once matched, FBT will be able to store, manage, and fulfill the hard bundle in FBT.
- Steps for Fulfilling the new Hard Bundle in FBT (After Converting Virtual Bundle to Hard Bundle/Individual Product in Seller Center) To enable FBT fulfillment for the new hard bundle SKU:

- Refer to this guide for more information on how to create goods.
- Old Virtual Bundle Inventory Considerations:
- When you convert a virtual bundle Product ID into a hard bundle, FBT will treat the hard bundle as a new standalone product SKU. The individual sub-SKUs that were previously matched to their own Goods IDs on FBT will not be able to fulfill the new hard bundle SKU but will be able to fulfill the individual SKU sales if they have standalone sales.
- If I create my virtual bundle as a SKU variant under the main Product ID, how can I fulfill it in FBT?
- To enable FBT fulfillment, go to FBT Merchant Portal → Goods → Create Goods, and match the individual sub-SKUs to the new Goods ID.

- Once virtual bundle sub-SKUs are matched, FBT will be able to fulfill the virtual bundle using the linked Goods ID.
- Note: When a virtual bundle is created as a SKU variant, only the individual sub-SKUs (normal single SKUs) appear in the FBT SKU matching list. The virtual bundle SKU will not be visible for matching in FBT. See below example.

- What are the FBT fees for virtual bundles?
- There is no additional fee for using the combined listing feature in FBT. Sellers will be charged per unit fulfillment fees based on the number of items in a virtual bundle order (multi-unit) and the weight of each item, as measured by FBT according to the FBT rate card.
- What are the best practices and inbound requirements for fulfilling a virtual bundle through FBT?
- Before sending you inbound shipments/IBR to FBT W/H, you need to make sure you create the combined listing in Seller Center, and match the sub-SKUs in the FBT merchant portal. This will make sure our supply-chain engine is able to allocate the sub-SKUs to the same FCs to fulfill them.
- If you are creating the virtual bundle for an existing inventory in FBT network, please reach out to your Account Manager or FBT Manager first.
- Make sure to have enough inventory for virtual bundle sub-SKUs/ Goods Ids. If one SKU is out of stock, the virtual bundle will be out of stock.
- What is the FBT Multi-Fulfillment Center (FC) Virtual Bundle Solution?
- Currently, FBT sellers only fulfill virtual bundles when all component SKUs are co-located in the same fulfillment center (FC) in our network. With this new enhancement, virtual bundle sub-SKUs can be fulfilled from multiple FCs across the FBT network even if all SKUs are not in the same FC, enabling shipments from different locations to the buyer. Buyers will be able to track each shipment independently, with clear expected delivery dates for each package. Refer to this article for more information.
- If you are not included in the multi-FC virtual bundle solution, your sub-SKUs will still need to be co-located within the same FC.
- How can I enroll in the new multi-FC virtual bundle capability in FBT?
- We are utilizing Phase 1 as a pilot to test, and participation is limited. If you would like access to this feature or need more information, please contact your Account Manager or FBT Growth Manager. Refer to this article for more information.
