Commercial General Liability (CGL) Insurance is your shield. It helps cover legal costs, settlements, and damages related to bodily injury or property damage claims arising from the products you sell or your operations (if your business is held responsible for).
Bottom line: Having CGL insurance is an added protection for you to sell on TikTok Shop, and the new Insurance Center makes this easy for you! Currently, CGL insurance is not a mandatory requirement, but may become so in the future. We will notify you in advance, before it becomes mandatory.

We've centralized the insurance management process on TikTok Shop for you into one easy-to-use hub. Please note that Insurance Center will only be available to select sellers. Here’s what you can do in the new Insurance Center:

Action 1: Upload Your Existing Policy (If You Already Have Coverage)

If you already have Commercial General Liability (CGL) coverage, you need to verify two key things, and then upload the document:

1. "Additional Insured": Please work with your insurance provider to ensure your policy has TikTok Inc. and its affiliates and assignees as additional insured. This protects both you and the platform.
2. Upload the Certificate: Upload a copy of your Certificate of Insurance (COI) directly through the portal for fast verification.

Action 2: Purchase New Insurance (Our Trusted Insurance Provider)

3. Click on Insurance.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts to either Upload COI or Purchase New Policy.
