Earn Abroad

When a creator in the US/UK/DE/ES/FR/IT posts a video with links to products that are available globally, customers in the UK/DE/ES/FR/IT can purchase the product from the video. You can still enjoy the same experience when posting content, but expanding markets provides you with the opportunity to engage with more customers and drive more sales to your product. Note: when you opt into this experience, your withdrawal schedule changes to weekly.

How it works

1. Go to the Product Detail Page (PDP): If the product is available from other sellers in other markets, you will see an Earn abroad option on the PDP to indicate that these products can be sold in multiple markets.
2. First time? Tap to unlock the opportunity: If you haven't turned on this feature before, you'll see a lock icon. Tap on this to open up your Earn abroad preferences. You can toggle the markets that you are interested in.
   1. You'll need to agree to share your content in the selected country and agree that your content will be subject to the applicable policies of the seller's country.
3. Save preferences for all or just that product: You'll have the option to save your preferences for that single product or apply it to all products. If you choose to only do it for that selected product, you will need to toggle this feature by going to the PDP of all other products you are interested in.
4. See the international earning details: Once unlocked, you'll be able to see more info about the price and estimated earnings in eligible markets from the PDP.

Understanding commissions from other markets

Once you publish content for products you’ve selected, you can start earning commissions when customers make a purchase — including customers from other eligible markets (if you’ve enabled Earn abroad).

Check your earnings by market (Creator Center)

1. Open Creator Center and go to Earnings.
2. You’ll see your total balance, with a market-by-market breakdown.
3. To view details, click into a date range to see your earnings history.
4. Use the country selector to switch markets and view earnings from customers in other countries.

Check order-level commission details (Affiliate Orders)

1. Go to Affiliate Orders.
2. For each order, you can view:
   • Estimated commission
   • Final commission
   • Settlement status

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Why can't my other market followers purchase products from my video?
   1. Other market followers won't be able to make purchases if:
      • A product is out of stock in the other market
      • The product is not eligible for extra market commissions (there's no globe icon on the PDP)
2. What currency will I receive if I earn commissions from other markets? All commissions will be paid in the local currency.
3. What markets might be available to me? For US creators, you may get the option to sell products in the UK, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy.
4. What currency will I receive if I earn commissions from other markets? All commissions will be paid in the local currency.
5. How do I know the global seller you've matched me with is credible? Earn abroad is only available when the same seller that offers your product in the US also sells that product in one of our eligible markets. That way you can feel comfortable that your shoppers (no matter where they are) will have access to the matching product from the same retailer in their market.
6. How might this impact my PPS? TikTok Shop matches the appropriate matching product from other markets to your content. Your PPS score and other similar scores will not be impacted by non-US products.
