FAQ:
Q: Will the videos we post show up on our page like a regular TikTok Shop video that earns commission? A: Yes. These videos will appear on your profile just like any other TikTok Shop video. Once the seller publishes the video and it's linked to a product, you’ll be able to earn commission as usual and track it on your page.Q: Do brands get the rights to use our videos in any way? A: Brands can use your video within TikTok Shop, including for ads. You’ll be able to see if ad usage is included in the invitation details—especially if there’s an ads commission attached. Brands are expected to only use your videos within the TikTok Shop ecosystem.
Q: Are we expected to accept every invite we receive?A: Not at all. You're free to review each invite and only accept the ones that feel like a good fit for you. If you choose not to accept, we’d love to hear why—your feedback helps us improve future invitations and brand matches.
Q: Will these videos post automatically after they pass review?A: If the seller opts in for seller review, they will review your video first and choose when to publish it. If the seller does not opt in for review, your video will be automatically posted once it passes platform review.
Q: Can I negotiate the flat rate/number of review rounds?A: Yes, you can negotiate both directly with the seller through in-app messaging. The standard setup includes up to 5 rounds of review, but you're welcome to align with the seller on different terms that work for both sides.
Q: Can my talent manager oversee these deals?A: You’re welcome to share the deal details with your talent manager. However, unless they have access to your TikTok Shop account, they won’t be able to view or manage the deals directly. Feel free to loop them in on any communications as needed.
Q: Do we still earn commission on the sales?A: Yes, you’ll still earn commission on eligible sales. The commission details will be included in the target invite, and you can also view them within the flat fee collaboration terms.
Q: Will we be able to filter out collaborations that don’t meet our flat fee minimum? I don’t want a bunch of requests for $50 when my dedicated video fees start at $1500.A: During the alpha test, target invites will come through the usual collaboration flow and appear under your "Collaborate Invites" tab. While there isn’t currently a filter to set a flat fee minimum, the number of invites will be limited during this phase. If an invite doesn’t meet your rates or expectations, you’re free to decline.
Q: Do you know if this can be used in addition to regular/commission opportunities? Or will this change every collaboration going forward to flat fee A: This is an additional option, not a replacement. Sellers now have the choice to offer flat fee collaborations, but it won’t replace regular commission-based opportunities. Some sellers may continue to offer commission only, while others might explore flat fee—or both.
Q: What happens if a creator misses the deadline?
A: The invitation will expire and will no longer be valid. If an extension is needed, the creator must coordinate directly with the seller.
Q: Can creators edit or delete content after submission?A: No. Once a video is accepted and published under the flat-fee model, it cannot be edited or deleted.Q: How long do sellers have to review the content?A: Sellers have up to 14 days to review the submitted content. If revisions are required, creators have 7 days to re-upload the revised version.
Q: When do creators get paid?
A: Once the content passes TikTok's review and receives seller approval, TikTok will release the funds. The payment status will update to "Paid," indicating that the funds have been deposited into the creator's account.
Q: What should a creator do if their payment is delayed?A: Check the "Progress" tab for status updates. If the payment status remains unchanged after the content is published, they should contact TikTok Shop Support.
