This policy outlines the requirements and eligibility criteria for sellers and creators participating in Affiliate Marketing on TikTok Shop.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is a commission-based relationship between sellers and the creators promoting their products. Affiliate Marketing offers the following:
  • Sellers can engage creators to promote products that qualify for Affiliate Marketing on the seller's behalf. The promoted products are considered "affiliate products".
  • Creators can search for a specific seller's affiliate products to promote and earn commission.
  • TikTok Shop may recommend a seller's affiliate products to creators for promotion.

Accessing Affiliate Marketing

The Affiliate Marketing page can be found in Seller Center. Sellers must consistently meet our affiliate marketing qualification criteria to access Affiliate Marketing and its features.
TikTok Shop reserves the right to restrict user Affiliate Marketing access or remove Affiliate Marketing products if our Affiliate Marketing Qualification Requirements are not met or we reasonably believe that our Seller Terms of Service, the law, or any applicable policies have been violated.

Affiliate Marketing Collaborations

Affiliate Marketing Collaborations are commission plans that sellers can use to engage creators to promote their Affiliate Products. Sellers can choose from one of the following Affiliate Collaborations:
Open Collaboration
  • A qualified shop's affiliate products are visible to all affiliate creators.
  • Affiliate creators can apply to promote the seller's affiliate products and can promote these products once their application is approved by the seller.
Target Collaboration
  • A qualified shop can invite specific affiliate creators to promote their products.
  • Affiliate creators who accept a seller's invitation can begin promoting the seller's affiliate products.
Shop Collaboration
  • A qualified shop can set a universal commission rate for all of their affiliate products, which is visible to all affiliate creators.
  • Affiliate creators can apply to promote the seller's affiliate products and can promote these products once their application is approved by the seller.

Affiliate Marketing Qualification Criteria

To participate in Affiliate Marketing, your shop and products must meet the eligibility requirements. Gaining shop qualification does not guarantee that all products will be enrolled into the Affiliate Marketing; each product is evaluated separately based on the product qualification criteria. Your shop must first meet the shop qualification criteria before each individual product can be assessed for eligibility.

Shop Qualification Criteria

  • Your Shop Performance Score (SPS) must be 3.5 or above.
    • The Shop Performance Score (SPS) reflects your shop's operational performance and ranges from 0 to 5, calculated based on your average performance over the last 90 days.
    • For more information, go to the Shop Performance Score article.

Product Qualification Criteria

  • The product’s Negative Review Rate (NRR) must be less than than two times the average NRR of products in the same listing category.
    • The product Negative Review Rate is the percentage of 1-2 star reviews for all orders of a specific product in the last 60 days.
    • For more information, go to the Customer Review article.
  • The product must not have intellectual property, fair trading, or customer review-related policy violations.
  • The product must not have been flagged by customers as inauthentic or unoriginal, either through product reviews or other channels.

Creator Qualification Criteria

Affiliate creators must meet specific eligibility thresholds to promote products within designated categories. These requirements apply when adding category products to showcases, livestreams, and video anchors.Eligibility ThresholdsTo promote category products, affiliate creators must meet both of the following conditions:
  • Promotion Performance Score of 3.5 or higher
  • Creator Health Rating of 150 or higher
If you do not meet the necessary criteria, attempts to add such products will be declined. An automated notification will then inform you of the rejection and the reason for the failure. For more information, go to Affiliate Creator Product Selection Policy article.

Affiliate Marketing Disqualification Criteria

Both a shop or a shop's specific product can be disqualified from Affiliate Marketing.

Shop Disqualification Criteria

A shop will be disqualified from Affiliate Marketing if it meets any of the criteria listed below:
  • The Shop Performance Score (SPS) falls below 3.
  • The seller's account is permanently or temporarily deactivated due to a violation of TikTok Shop policies.
    • Note: In this situation, the seller will be permanently disqualified from Affiliate Marketing.
TikTok Shop evaluates the shop's performance daily to determine disqualification. When a shop is disqualified from Affiliate Marketing, all active affiliate marketing collaborations will be terminated, and the seller will no longer be able to create new collaborations. Additionally, all products previously enrolled in the program will be removed.
A shop may regain access to Affiliate Marketing by meeting the qualification criteria outlined in the Affiliate Marketing Qualification Criteria section. However, previous affiliate marketing collaborations will not be restored, and the seller must initiate new collaborations.
Sellers will receive a warning if their SPS falls below 3.5. If the SPS is between 3.0 - 3.5, the seller will not be able to add new products to Affiliate Marketing, but their existing collaborations will not be impacted.

Product Disqualification Criteria

A product will be disqualified from Affiliate Marketing if it meets any of the criteria listed below:
  • The product's Negative Review Rate (NRR) is more than three times the average NRR of products in the same listing category. Products that exceed this limit may be subjected to restrictions or removal from Affiliate Marketing.
  • The product has intellectual property, fair trading, or customer review-related policy violations.
  • The product has been flagged as inauthentic or unoriginal, whether through product reviews or other channels.
If a product is disqualified from Affiliate Marketing, the seller will no longer be able to create new affiliate marketing collaborations for that product.
Sellers will receive a warning if their product's NRR exceeds two times the average NRR of products in the same category. In this case, the seller will not be able to add new products to Affiliate Marketing, but existing collaborations will not be impacted.

Enforcement Actions and Appeals

We regularly review shops for compliance with our policies and will take enforcement action if violations are identified. If violations are identified, enforcement actions may be taken, which can include the issuance of violation points, removal of product listings, revocation of affiliate marketing access, suspension of selling or creator privileges, customer refunds, or other enforcement actions. For more information on enforcement actions, refer to our Seller Enforcement Policy and Creator Enforcement Policy.
If you'd like to appeal an enforcement action, visit the Appeals section of our Seller Enforcement Policy for guidance on how to proceed.
