How It Works

Our Shop Recognition program is designed to acknowledge and reward the select group of sellers who consistently stand out. Earning a badge is a mark of being a trusted, reliable seller who demonstrates a commitment to operational excellence and a seamless shopping experience for buyers.
Shop Recognition introduces four new badges to help shoppers identify quality and trustworthy shops: Official Shop, Authorized Seller, Gold Star Seller, and Silver Star Seller. Each seller can only have one of these badges at a time. For example, a seller can not have both an Official Shop and a Gold Star Seller badge.
Badges are reserved for influential brands that showcase business authenticity and scale, as well as high-performing individual sellers. By focusing on these eligibility criteria, you can take actionable steps toward earning a badge and helping to elevate the experience on our platform
At a high level, we offer badges in two categories -- Brand Recognition and Star Seller Recognition:

• Brand Recognition: TikTok recognition of notable brands and their authorized distributors.
  • Official Shop: The Official Shop badge is given to shops that are owned by notable brands or have in-house brands and are authorized to sell other brands, with all products meeting industry standards for authenticity and quality.
  • Authorized Seller: The Authorized Seller badge is given to sellers, resellers, or distributors who have approval to sell branded products, meeting industry standards for authenticity and quality. TikTok Shop conducts regular evaluations to ensure ongoing compliance with these standards.
• Star Seller Recognition: A two-tier program designed to celebrate stellar performance from independent sellers.
  • Gold Star Seller: The Gold Star Seller badge is given to independent sellers on TikTok Shop who consistently deliver excellent customer experiences with their product quality, on-time delivery, and customer service.
  • Silver Star Seller: The Silver Star Seller badge is given to independent sellers on TikTok Shop who've consistently met performance standards for product quality, on-time delivery, and customer service.

How to Access This Feature

If you are a notable brand or authorized distributor, the Brand Recognition page is your starting point and personal guide to achieving a Shop Recognition badge on TikTok Shop. Depending on your seller type, whether you are owned by a notable brand, have in-house brands, have approval to sell branded products, or are just an independent seller wanting more recognition, the page adjusts to show you the most relevant information.

Access the Store Tiering Page:

• Step 1: Log in to Seller Center.
• Step 2: Navigate to Growth on the left-hand menu.
• Step 3: Click on Brand Shop Recognition.

If you are eligible for this program, you'll see a progress bar displaying your current progress towards getting your shop verified and badged with a Store Tiering badge. The progress bar is calculated by taking the number of criteria you meet and showing it as a whole number. Here are a few tips for independent sellers to get Gold Star Seller or Silver Star Seller badges:

1. Keep your Shop Performance Score as high as possible (the higher, the better)
2. Maintain very high product ratings from shoppers (the higher, the better)
3. Make sure you have plenty of products listed to sell

No. Sellers must continuously maintain eligibility requirements to have a badge. We refresh sellers' shop performance data on a monthly basis, including customer service feedback, the number of products available for sale, and Shop Performance Score, to name just a few areas. This means that a seller may lose a badge for a month, and then regain it later if their performance improves later. Similarly, a seller may move between Gold Star Seller and Silver Star Seller levels.

6. Do these badges replace the blue checkmark?

No, the verification badge and blue checkmark will appear together with Brand Recognition badges (Official Shop or Authorized Seller).

7. Do these badges replace the Star Shop program?

Yes, the Gold Star Seller and Silver Star Seller badges replace the Star Shop program, although the sentiment is still conveyed through the new badges. Think of it as an evolved version of the Star Shop that now highlights the difference between the very best (Gold) and next best (Silver) sellers who are not "Official" or "Authorized" brand sellers, but still have high performance. We also have updated the eligibility requirements to qualify for these badges, and will check regularly and often to ensure sellers not only meet but retain the required performance. 8. Can I appeal my Gold or Silver Star Seller status if I disagree?

Yes, you can appeal your Star Seller status in Seller Center by following these steps:

1. Click Account Health, then Star Sellers. On the Star sellers page, click "Correct Star Sellers badge"
2. File an appeal based on the reason you believe you need a correction.
3. Once you've submitted your appeal, you can click Appeal Details to monitor the status.
