Temporary account restrictions may be imposed while TikTok Shop performs these checks to ensure the safety of your account and the platform.
- Risk Mitigation: In cases where suspicious activities are detected, TikTok Shop may limit specific account capabilities temporarily to prevent any potential harm to your account.
- Compliance Verification: TikTok Shop may require additional information or documents to ensure compliance with our policies and legal requirements. During this verification process, certain seller account functions may be temporarily limited.
What occurs during a temporary account restriction?
- Notification: We will promptly notify you about the temporary account restriction, including details about the reason and the expected duration of the restriction. Account restrictions may be placed for up to 30 days.
- Limited Access: You may experience restricted access to specific account features or functions during this period. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Restrictions on seller campaigns
- Restrictions to Affiliate Marketplace access
- Standard or deferred fund settlement periods and holds on fund withdrawals
- Order volume limits (OVL)
- Support: Our Customer Support team is available to address any concerns or questions you might have regarding the temporary account restriction. If a seller believes a temporary account restriction was made in error, sellers can submit further inquiries by submitting a Help Ticket through Seller Center.
Why has my account been temporarily restricted?
Your account may be placed on temporary account restrictions for various reasons. These include, but are not limited to:
- Limited Sales History: Insufficient or limited sales history can result in temporary account restrictions, particularly if you are a new seller or have been inactive on your account for an extended period. Establishing a positive history of customer-seller transactions often requires time and consistent activity on TikTok Shop.
- Customer Feedback and Disputes: Instances where multiple customers report items as not received, request refunds, or provide negative feedback about your shop account may prompt temporary account restrictions. TikTok Shop encourages resolving customer issues promptly and ensuring timely order fulfillment to mitigate poor customer feedback.
- Invalid or Missing Tracking Information: Lack of valid or unavailable tracking information can impact customer trust and order validation. Ensuring accurate and valid tracking information enhances customer confidence and helps in verifying successful order deliveries.
- Unusual Selling Patterns: Significant changes or sudden spikes in sales volume or changes in inventory offerings may trigger temporary account restrictions.
- Missing Critical Business Information: Incomplete or missing necessary business details, including website, address, and contact information, can impact TikTok Shop's ability to validate a positive customer-seller history.

Once the validation process is finalized, your account capabilities will be reinstated, allowing you to resume normal seller activities on TikTok Shop.
What should I do if my account has been temporarily restricted?
If your account has been temporarily restricted, TikTok Shop encourages sellers to:
- Continue business operations: Continue to fulfill orders to maintain positive customer relationships. Timely order fulfillment can contribute to a positive customer experience and builds positive transaction history.
- Resolve customer issues: Address any outstanding customer concerns or messages promptly. Engaging with customers to resolve issues can demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction.
