Ready to be inspired? Announcing the launch of Market Insights within TikTok Shop Creator Analytics that will be the one-stop location for Creators to find the inspiration for their e-commerce content as well as help them understand the most trending topics and sentiments from buyers.
Whether it be inspiration for videos, looking for hashtags to use or selecting the ideal, engaging music for your e-commerce content, Market Insights places the right information at your fingertips. Further, you can use the newly launched trending topics within Market Insights to pinpoint the right discussion topics and trends in order to get your content to the right audience and boost conversion.

  • Users can view the set of top trending music and embed them in their shoppable content.
  • Users can further filter by category relevance of the music for more targeted search

Use Case 3: I want to get visibility of the top performing hashtags to tag in my shoppable content

  • Users can view the set of top trending hashtags which they can tag in their content for enhanced reach and engagement.
  • Users can further filter by category relevance of the hashtag for more targeted search
  • Users can view top trending topics or trends which they can tag in their content for enhanced reach and engagement. This will also enable users to understand overall market sentiment during a time period to create content that resonates better with users.

Access and authorization

All Creators with e-commerce (EC) will have access to the "Market Insights" functionality. Currently, the functionality will only be available on the APP version of Creator Compass but we plan to launch the same on PC in a future iteration.

  1. Upon entering the Market insights module, users will be able to view top trending videos that are customized for the user, based on factors such as products they promote, product categories that the user targets, Creators they follow etc.
  2. The "For you" view provides the most contextual inspiration video content for the user and it is recommended as the first and most relevant video view set for users to leverage
  3. Videos will be ranked by order of overall video performance consisting of composite metrics such as views, conversion performance etc.
  4. Users can click into any one of the recommended "For you" videos to be redirected to the Video's page
Video list view (Followers loved)image
  1. Users can also click on the "Followers loved" tab to get a list of video inspirational content that have resonated with their followers
  2. Videos will be ranked by order of overall video performance consisting of composite metrics such as views, conversion performance etc.
  3. Users can click into any one of the recommended "Followers loved" videos to be redirected to the Video's page

  1. Users can also click on the "Trending in all categories" tab to get a list of video inspirational content that have been trending in a category that the user can select.
  2. On clicking the tab, user can either select "All categories" or click on a particular category of interest
  3. Within a particular category users can further select "Shop All" or select a relevant sub-category for a more targeted search.
  4. The final selection will be visible at the top in place of the "Trending in all categories" tab. (see image)
  5. Videos will be filtered out by category relevance, however, video view numbers displayed will remain unchanged
  6. Users can click into any one of the recommended "Trending in all categories" or selected category videos to be redirected to the Video's page

  1. Apart from getting easily visible recommendations for inspirational videos, users can use the adaptive search bar to filter for videos relevant to products, categories or brands.
Note: The adaptive search filters are only available for Videos and search terms/keywords will not be reflected in topic music/hashtag/topics, discussed below

  1. Within the adaptive search bar, users can enter keywords related to product, category or brands to create a more targeted search of video inspirational content
  2. For a result set > 3 matched videos the search view will populate a list of all matched videos that fit the search criteria (Image 1)
  3. For a result set < 3 matched videos the search view will either populate a list of all matched videos or show no matches that fit the search criteria (Image 2). Coupled with that the user will also get suggestions that are related to the search term. This is to ensure that user can leverage similar results when enough matched results are not available.

  4. For each listed hashtag in the list view, users will also be able to view the # of views and posts associated with the hashtag coupled with hashtag growth/decline trends.
  5. Clicking on any individual hashtag element navigates the user to the hashtag detail page

For each listed music in the list view, users will also be able to view the # of search trends and order trends associated with the topic. Search trends refers to the number of searches associated with topic whereas order trends will only comprise order numbers associated with the topic.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Do I need any special access or permissions to access this Market insight interface? Any Creator with EC permission will be able to access this functionality without the need for any special access permissions.
What interface (PC/APP) will this functionality be available on? In this phase of the launch, the market insight functionality will only be available on the APP version but we plan to incorporate the same into the PC interface in an imminent upcoming launch.
What is the time range over which results in Market Insights will be displayed? Currently, relevant market insights data for videos, music, hashtags and topics will be provided for the last 30 days of available data and users cannot customize timeframes. In a future iteration, we plan to provide customizable timeframes for more targeted insights search.
