Creator Pilot Program Introduction

What is the Creator Pilot Program?

The Creator Pilot Program allows promising creators, who have yet to meet traditional requirements (e.g. having a minimum of 5,000 followers) for full posting access, to begin monetizing their content on TikTok Shop. This temporary shoppable content limit ensures a high quality TikTok Shop experience for everyone.

Shoppable content frequency limits

The frequency of shoppable LIVEs on TikTok Shop (both on the TikTok app and web) is limited based on the account's follower count, with a quota for number of streams. Accounts with less than 5,000 followers will be limited to:
  • 3 LIVE selling streams per week
  • 5 shoppable videos per week

Shoppable LIVE stream content frequency limits

Scenarios where frequency is deducted:
  • Each time a creator successfully adds a product link and goes LIVE, regardless of content, quality, or number of viewers.
  • Each time a creator successfully adds a product link to a LIVE.
  • Each time a creator schedules a LIVE from the LIVE Manager homepage on desktop or PC and clicks Go LIVE.
  • Each time a creator schedules a shoppable LIVE from the LIVE Events feature on the app and selects Go LIVE.
  • If a creator's LIVE is interrupted by lag or technical difficulty, the stream frequency is dedicated as long as they've successfully added a product link and gone LIVE.
  • LIVEs associated with product images that were in previous successful LIVEs will have the stream frequency deducted.
  • If a creator's LIVE had a product link added, or referenced product images in previous successful LIVE, is ended due to any of the following reasons, the stream frequency will still be deducted:
    • Content violations: Streams that are terminated by TikTok moderators for including hate speech, explicit content, illegal activities, or other prohibited behaviors
    • Mass reporting: Streams that are terminated while TikTok moderators review the stream when viewers mass report the stream, even if found not guilty
    • Automated detection: Streams that are automatically terminated by TikTok's algorithm
    • Inactivity captchas: Streams that are terminated when Creators fail to solve a prompted inactivity captcha or tap the screen to confirm due to inactivity
Situations where frequency is not deducted:
  • LIVEs that do not have a product link added
  • LIVEs in practice mode
  • Scheduled shoppable LIVE is cancelled
  • Shoppable LIVEs that are scheduled but are not activated (creator clicks Go LIVE) within that week

Shoppable video content frequency limits

Situations where frequency is deducted:
  • Any posted shoppable videos, including those viewable only to you, will count towards your limit
  • Scheduled shoppable videos will count towards your limit the moment they're scheduled, not at the time they're scheduled to post
  • If you delete a posted shoppable video, it will still be counted towards your limit that week
  • If a shoppable video is removed due to a violation, it will still count towards your limit
  • If you add a product link to a previously posted video, it becomes a shoppable video and counts towards your limit
Situations where frequency is not deducted:
  • Shoppable content that was not successfully published (including those saved, in draft status, or that failed to publish) will not have the posting frequency deducted
  • Regular short videos with no product link added
