TikTok may use Retail Price, List Price, or other sources as references for your strikethrough price.
TikTok is committed to providing clear and accurate pricing information. Discounts are primarily calculated based on validated prices, a common retail practice. These prices are verified using TTS's pricing data or prices offered by other retailers to ensure accuracy, prevent inflated discount claims, and uphold fair pricing standards for buyers.
Strike-through pricing is not guaranteed and may be removed if misleading pricing is detected, such as a list price that does not align with the product’s historical selling price. Sellers should ensure their retail and list prices accurately reflect the item's true market value.

What is List Price

The List Price (also known as the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price, or MSRP) is the suggested retail price of a product as provided by a manufacturer, supplier, or seller. List Price is one of the verified price sources that TikTok may use to showcase savings to customers.
Strike-through prices appear in multiple locations, such as product detail pages and search results, to highlight discounts for customers.
List Price Guidelines:

• Sellers are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date prices that genuinely reflect the true retail value of their products.
• If TikTok cannot verify the submitted List Price, it will not be used.
• If no List Price is provided, TikTok will validate only the Retail Price as a reference.

FAQ

• Why doesn’t my product discount show a strike-through pricing after I set it up?

For newly listed products without any sales history, if TikTok cannot verify the provided retail or list price, strike-through pricing may not be displayed initially. Once the product generates sales that align with the retail or list price, the strike-through pricing may appear.
For products with a sales history, strike-through pricing may not be shown to customers if potential misleading marketing is detected with the seller's retail/list price. This is caused by the seller setting a price that does not align with the historical price paid for that item. Sellers are advised to review and adjust their retail/list prices to ensure they reflect the true retail value of the item.
