Save Shipping Costs and Encourage Repeat Purchases by Combining Orders
AI Summary
Combined shipping lets sellers discount shipping on repeat orders from the same shopper and package eligible orders together to cut fulfillment cost. In Seller Center, go to Logistics > Fulfillment > Saved Shipping Fee by Combining orders to choose free shipping, reduced shipping, or do not offer. For LIVE, a capped shipping fee is rolling out and reaches all eligible sellers on September 10, 2026 (PT); watch weight, dimensions, warehouse, and shipping-method limits.
TikTok Shop will recommend combining orders placed by the same shopper across different order channels within a predefined time window, provided that the shopper, delivery address, seller, and seller warehouse are the same. By consolidating these orders into a single package, this cross-channel order combination can encourage repeat purchases while reducing shipping costs.
Importantly, TikTok Shop will display reduced shipping fees to shoppers during checkout for subsequent purchases with the same seller (within a specific time horizon), thereby incentivizing incremental orders, repeat buying, and growing GMV.
There will be 3 opt-in options for sellers:
On this page:
Once the feature is enabled, the capped shipping fee applies to all eligible orders placed by the same shopper during the same LIVE session, as long as the LIVE session is still ongoing. The setting applies to all LIVE sessions in the shop, but the shipping fee cap is calculated separately for each LIVE session.
Once the shopper’s accumulated shipping fees reach the configured cap, no additional eligible shipping fees will be charged to the shopper for the remainder of that LIVE session. Any eligible shipping costs above the cap will be covered by the seller.
A shopper places multiple orders during the same LIVE session:
Any eligible shipping costs above the cap will be covered by the seller.
When you select Combine and Continue and proceed to the Arrange Shipment flow, TikTok Shop checks whether the selected orders are eligible to be combined. If they meet the combination requirements, an Auto-combined tag will be displayed to indicate that the orders can be fulfilled together.
API sellers who have enabled the feature:

Order Combination Rules apply when you select “Offer reduced shipping fee for eligible orders” under “Save shipping fee by combining orders.” Once enabled, your customized rules will be applied during shopper checkout to determine which orders are eligible for combined shipping.
You can configure rules based on multiple dimensions, including:
For the combined shipping fee option, the discount is based on the difference between the shipping cost before and after the orders are combined. Package weight, dimensional weight, delivery distance, and the selected shipping service may affect the final shipping fee.
For continuous or 24-hour livestreams, sellers may process and fulfill orders every six hours.
The cap is calculated separately for each shopper and each LIVE session.
However, shipping orders separately may increase the seller’s fulfillment costs. Sellers are encouraged to combine eligible orders whenever possible.
Importantly, TikTok Shop will display reduced shipping fees to shoppers during checkout for subsequent purchases with the same seller (within a specific time horizon), thereby incentivizing incremental orders, repeat buying, and growing GMV.
There will be 3 opt-in options for sellers:
- Offer free shipping on subsequent orders: Eligible shopper orders placed across supported order channels within the applicable time window will be considered together when shipping fees are calculated. Shoppers receive free shipping on eligible orders placed after the first order. A countdown banner will appear on the order confirmation page to encourage additional purchases within the eligible time window. During fulfillment, Seller Center will recommend combining eligible orders into a single package.
- Offer reduced shipping fee for eligible orders: Eligible shopper orders placed across supported order channels will be considered together when shipping fees are calculated, and shoppers will only be charged the incremental shipping fee for additional eligible orders. When the seller fulfills the orders, Seller Center will provide a package combination recommendation.
- Do not offer: No combined-shipping discount will be applied when the shopper’s shipping fee is calculated. However, eligible orders may still receive a package combination recommendation when the seller creates shipping labels, and the seller can choose whether to combine them.

API Sellers
Reference document for API-based order combination shipment integration details here.API sellers who have enabled the feature:
auto_combine_group_id is a unique identifier for orders placed by the same shopper in the live room. Once the seller has enabled this feature in the Seller Center, the identifier will auto-combine orders for shipping.

- If multiple orders have the same auto_combine_group_id, it means that these orders can be combined for shipping.
- Sellers who have not enabled the feature:
If sellers have not enabled the Auto-Combine, auto_combine_group_id will display as "N/A" (not applicable).

Notes for weight rules
- When packages are combined, shipping fees increase with weight tiers (actual / dimensional weight). Adding a lightweight item within 1 lb may only slightly raise costs, but crossing into the next weight tier can result in a significant fee jump.
- Example 1: Actual Weight
- One item weighs 0.5 lb. Adding another 0.5 lb item, a total of 1.0 lb (still within 1 lb) — cost increase is minimal or zero.
- Adding three 0.5 lb items (total 1.5 lb) exceeds the 1 lb threshold and triggers a higher rate in the next tier.
- Example 2: Dimensional Weight
- One item measures 10×10×10 inches, actual weight 0.5 lb. If a shopper purchases two, total volume becomes 20×10×10 = 2000 cubic inches (>1728), so rates apply to dimensional weight. Even though actual weight is 1 lb, dimensional weight is 12 lb, leading to a sharp rise in shipping cost.
- Our Recommendations: Consider actual and dimensional weight when enabling auto-combine. You may simulate shipping costs using the calculator on the logistics service page before activation.
- Clearly explain shipping fee calculation to shoppers during live streams to avoid unexpected high costs at checkout.
Set custom Order Combination Rules
To better support different order consolidation scenarios—especially orders generated during LIVE sessions—and, and help reduce logistics costs, sellers can customize Order Combination Rules for package combination recommendations.Order Combination Rules apply when you select “Offer reduced shipping fee for eligible orders” under “Save shipping fee by combining orders.” Once enabled, your customized rules will be applied during shopper checkout to determine which orders are eligible for combined shipping.
You can configure rules based on multiple dimensions, including:
- LIVE sessions
- Product categories
- Package weight
- Package dimensions
- Number of items per package
- Save Shipping Fee by Combining Orders determines how shoppers are charged for shipping when they place multiple eligible orders within a specified time window.
- Order Combination Rules determine which orders are eligible to be combined during fulfillment based on conditions such as LIVE session, product category, package weight, package dimensions, and item quantity.

FAQ
Does enabling the feature guarantee that every additional order will receive a lower shipping fee?
No. The shipping benefit depends on the selected option and whether the orders meet the applicable combination requirements. For the combined shipping fee option, the discount is based on the difference between the shipping cost before and after the orders are combined. Package weight, dimensional weight, delivery distance, and the selected shipping service may affect the final shipping fee.
Why were the shopper’s orders not combined?
| Reason | Description | Suggestion |
| The combined package exceeds the weight limit | The total weight limit is 150lbs. | Check the product weight to ensure multiple items do not exceed the limit. |
| The combined package exceeds the size limit | Each service has specific size and weight requirements; refer to Shipping Settings ![]() | Check product dimensions to ensure multiple items do not exceed the size limit, |
| Orders are shipped from different warehouses | If the first order is shipped from Warehouse A and the second order from Warehouse B, they cannot be combined. | Ensure that all products sold in the livestream are shipped from the same warehouse. |
| Shoppers select different fulfillment services |
| Ensure that all products in the livestream belong to the same fulfillment type — either all FBT or all Non-FBT. |
What is the maximum weight for a combined package?
The current overall combined-package limit is 150 lb, but the actual limit may be lower depending on the selected shipping service. Sellers should review the applicable carrier requirements and configure Order Combination Rules accordingly. Why does the second order’s shipping fee still appear high after combination?
Possible reasons include:- The combined package may enter a higher actual-weight tier;
- The combined dimensions may trigger dimensional-weight pricing;
- The product weight or dimensions entered by the seller may be higher than the actual values.
How can I confirm that orders were successfully combined?
Go to Manage Orders and review the package information. Successfully combined orders will display a Combined Shipment label and will be associated with the same combined package. When should I start fulfilling orders placed during a livestream?
To maximize the opportunity to combine orders and reduce fulfillment costs, sellers are encouraged to begin fulfillment after the livestream ends. For continuous or 24-hour livestreams, sellers may process and fulfill orders every six hours.
Can orders from different warehouses be combined?
No. Orders assigned to different warehouses cannot be combined into the same package. Sellers should ensure that products promoted together during a livestream are fulfilled from the same warehouse when possible. Can I remove an order from a recommended combination?
Yes. Before the combined package reaches the applicable shipping stage, sellers can review the recommended combination and remove orders that they prefer to fulfill separately. Additional shipping costs caused by separating previously combined orders may be borne by the seller. Can sellers ship during the livestream?
Yes, but we recommend waiting until the livestream ends before shipping, as TikTok Shop's fulfillment system determines order combining rules and calculates shipping fees based on orders placed during the livestream. Shipping before the livestream ends may incur additional shipping fees.
Can content creators use the package combining feature?
No. Content creators cannot combine packages because their livestreams feature multiple sellers/brands.
Will shoppers receive benefit notifications?
Shoppers entering a seller's live room (not a creator's live room) with the combined package free shipping feature enabled will receive a notification about this benefit.
Can sellers split combined packages?
Yes, sellers can split combined packages. However, sellers should be aware that splitting combined packages will result in a shipping difference and sellers are responsible for all additional shipping expenses.
Why did the shopper pay more shipping than expected after order combination? How can I identify the cause?
Reason | Solution |
The product weight or dimensions you set are large, so combined orders may fall into a higher actual weight or dimensional weight tier, resulting in a significant shipping fee increase. | Estimate shipping fees for different weights using the shipping calculator: Go to Logistics > Shipping, click the calculator icon, and open it under the corresponding warehouse tab. Decide whether to use the order combination feature based on the actual weight and dimensional weight of items in typical orders. ![]() |
| Please first check your Order Combination Rules configuration. It is possible that the rules you have set are too strict, which results in most orders not meeting the combination criteria. | For example, if you have set a constraint such as a maximum package thickness of 2 cm, this may exclude a large portion of orders from being eligible for combination. In this case, we recommend reviewing and adjusting the rules to more reasonable thresholds to enable more successful combinations.![]() |
What is a capped shipping fee for LIVE?

Do orders need to be shipped from the same warehouse or combined into one package?

Sellers are encouraged to combine eligible orders whenever possible.
