Summary

What is the Shared Inventory feature on TikTok Shop and how does it benefit sellers?

  • Shared Inventory allows multiple SKU listings of the same physical product (same FBT Goods ID) to share one inventory pool, simplifying inventory management, reducing costs, and improving efficiency across multiple listings and shops.

What are the key rules and limitations for binding SKUs and shops under the Shared Inventory system?

  • Each Goods ID can bind up to 5 SKU listings per shop; each FBT account can bind up to 5 shops; each shop can bind up to 5 FBT accounts. Once bound, shops cannot be unbound, and inventory allocation is automatic and dynamic without manual adjustment.

How does cross-shop and cross-entity shared inventory work, and what restrictions apply?

  • Inventory sharing is allowed across shops and legal entities if affiliated internally; ACCU sellers cannot share with CCCU sellers but can with L2L sellers. Sellers should designate one FBT account as primary for centralized inventory to reduce operational risks.

What are the warehouse fee charging rules and operational recommendations for sellers using Shared Inventory?

  • Warehouse fees (except order-related fees) are charged via GMV deduction to the shop with the highest settled warehouse fees in the past 7 days. Sellers are advised to consume inventory naturally before switching accounts to minimize costs and risks.

What common issues might sellers face when binding shops or SKUs for Shared Inventory, and how can they resolve them?

  • Binding failures can occur due to exceeding binding limits, missing phone number verification, incompatible account types, or enabled returns to FBT warehouse. Sellers should verify phone numbers, contact FBT managers, or submit tickets with shop codes for support.

Feature Overview

After enabling the Shared Inventory feature, multiple SKU listings that correspond to the same physical product (same FBT Goods ID) can share a single pool of inventory. This capability significantly simplifies inventory preparation, increases inventory flexibility, and helps sellers manage multi-channel sales with lower costs and higher efficiency—enabling a “multiple listings, single inventory pool” strategy.

Shared Inventory Allocation Principles & Functional Limitations

  • Inventory Allocation Across SKUs
    • Under each shop, a single Goods ID can be bound to up to 5 different SKU listings.
For example:If FBT Account A is linked to Shop A and Shop B, then Goods A can be bound to:
  • Up to 5 SKU listings under Shop A, and
  • Up to 5 SKU listings under Shop B.
Inventory sharing will be automatically enabled by the system.
    • Inventory is automatically allocated by the system to support shared inventory.
    • Inventory allocation principle: inventory is evenly distributed across multiple listings; manual intervention or modification of the fixed inventory allocation ratio between SKUs is not allowed, and inventory will be dynamically allocated based on actual sales performance.
    • Triggers for Inventory Reallocation
      • Adding or removing SKU IDs bound to a Goods ID
      • Available inventory falls below 5 units
      • Inventory is sold out
      Important Notes
      1. If a bound SKU is participating in a platform campaign that locks inventory, the locked portion will not be redistributed to other SKUs.
      2. It is recommended that sellers complete campaign participation for the primary listing before binding additional SKUs.
        • Cross-Shop Shared Inventory
          • Account Type Restrictions: ACCU sellers cannot share inventory with CCCU sellers, but ACCU sellers can share inventory with L2L sellers.
          • No Legal Entity Restrictions: There are no restrictions on whether shops belong to the same or different legal entities. For cross-entity sharing, sellers must internally ensure that the entities are affiliated. The platform will not be responsible for any disputes arising from this.
          • FBT Account Binding Limit: Each FBT account can be bound to a maximum of 5 shops, regardless of whether the shops are new or existing.
          • Shop Binding Limit: Each shop can be bound to a maximum of 5 FBT accounts (i.e., each shop can bind up to 4 additional FBT accounts). Please ensure the correct FBT account is selected when creating the binding.
Usage Recommendation: For long-term operational convenience, it is recommended to select one FBT account as the primary account for centralized inventory preparation, and bind other shops to this primary account. And it is recommended to allow inventory to be naturally consumed before gradually discontinuing use, in order to reduce switching costs and operational risks.
        • Shop cannot be unbounded: Once a shop is successfully bound, it cannot be unbound.
        • SKU Quantity Limit: Under each shop, each Goods ID can be bound to a maximum of 5 different SKU listings.

Warehouse Fee Charging Logic for Shared Inventory

Except for fees that are charged or refunded following consumer orders—such as Fulfillment Fees, Fulfillment Fee Subsidies, and SIOC Subsidies- all other warehouse-related fees incurred will be charged via GMV deduction to the shop with the highest settled warehouse fees over the past 7 days.

Will any additional fees be charged?

          • No

          • Multi-Shop Shared Inventory Scenario 1: Between newly onboarded FBT shops and existing FBT-enabled shops (effective immediately)
Note: If none of your shops are currently onboarded to FBT, you only need to select one shop to onboard to FBT first. That shop will become the existing FBT-enabled shop, and you can then bind your other shops to it. It is recommended to prioritize this scenario for inventory sharing.
          • Applicable scenario: This scenario applies to enabling inventory sharing between shops that have already enabled FBT and shops that have not yet enabled FBT.
          • No legal entity restriction: Sharing is allowed both within the same legal entity and across different legal entities. For cross-entity sharing, sellers must internally ensure that the entities are affiliated. The platform will not be responsible for any disputes arising from this.
          • System incompatibility: ACCU sellers cannot share inventory with CCCU sellers; however, ACCU sellers can share inventory with L2L (local) sellers.
          • Unbinding not supported: Once multi-shop binding is successfully completed, shops cannot be unbound, meaning the shop can no longer onboard to an FBT account independently.
          • FBT account binding limit: Each FBT account can be bound to a maximum of 5 shops.
          • Warehouse fee charging: Warehouse-related fees (such as storage fees, inbound placement fees, and exception handling fees) will be charged via GMV deduction to the shop with the highest settled amount over the past 7 days.

          • Unbinding not supported: Once multi-shop binding is completed, the shop cannot be unbound and cannot be removed from the bound FBT account.
          • Shop binding limit: Each shop can be bound to a maximum of 5 FBT accounts (i.e., each shop can additionally bind 1 more FBT account). Please ensure the correct FBT account is selected for binding.
          • FBT account binding limit: Each FBT account can be bound to a maximum of 5 shops, regardless of whether the shops are new or existing.
          • Returns to FBT warehouse temporarily unavailable: After a shop is bound to multiple FBT accounts, returns to FBT warehouses are temporarily not supported. Returns can only be sent back to your overseas warehouse. Support will be enabled after this scenario is optimized.

          • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
            • What is the officially recommended usage for multi-shop shared inventory?
A:Select one FBT account as the primary account for centralized inventory preparation, and bind other shops to this primary account. After the inventory under the original shipper accounts is naturally consumed, gradually discontinue usage to avoid risks and costs caused by mid-process switching.
          • My shop is using the “customer returns to FBT warehouse” feature. Can I bind through Multi-Shop Shared Inventory Scenario 2?
A:Not supported at this time. Please wait until the relevant feature optimization is completed before proceeding with binding.
            • How many FBT accounts can one shop be bound to?
A:Up to 5 FBT accounts (i.e., up to 4 additional accounts beyond the current binding).
              • How many shops can one FBT account be bound to?
A:Up to 5 shops (i.e., up to 4 additional shops beyond the current binding).
                • Can the binding be removed after it is completed?
A:Unbinding is currently not supported. Please fully confirm before proceeding.
                  • My other shops have not enabled FBT yet. Do they need to enable FBT first before using this feature?
A:No. You can directly bind them under an account that has already enabled FBT.
                    • Are there any legal entity restrictions?
A:There are no legal entity restrictions. Sharing is allowed within the same legal entity or across different legal entities. For cross-entity sharing, sellers must internally ensure the entities are affiliated. The platform will not be responsible for any disputes arising from this.

Self-Check: Reasons for Binding Failure and Resolution Paths

Reason 1: ACCU / L2L sellers cannot share inventory across shops with CCCU sellers.
Reason 2: The number of bound shops or FBT accounts exceeds the limit (5).
Reason 3: The shop you are trying to bind does not have a phone number bound in Seller Center.
How to resolve: During binding, you must enter the phone number that is bound to the shop in Seller Center for verification. If the shop does not have a bound phone number, binding is not supported. Please bind a phone number first before proceeding.
Reason 4: If the shop you are binding or being bound to is a local (L2L) shop, please contact your FBT manager or submit a ticket, explain the situation, and provide your shop code to apply for whitelist access.
How to submit a ticket or contact customer support online for FBT-related issues

                      shop code2: xxxx

Reason 5: If your shop has enabled the “returns to FBT warehouse” service but wants to use the existing-seller cross-shop shared inventory feature, please contact your FBT manager or submit a ticket, explain the situation, and provide your shop code.
