Product Recall Policy

Overview

The TikTok Shop Product Recall Policy cover products that are recalled when potential safety issues, defects, or possible problems that may pose a risk to customers are discovered.
All sellers who offer products for sale through TikTok Shop must do so in accordance with the TikTok Shop Product Recall Policy.
Important: This policy applies to all sellers selling in the US.
This policy is not exhaustive, nor is it intended as legal advice. Sellers must seek independent legal advice if they have questions about the laws and regulations concerning their products.
This policy is updated periodically. Sellers must check this page regularly to ensure compliance with our current policy.
Important Note: TikTok Shop may take enforcement actions against sellers who violate this policy in accordance with our Seller Terms of Service. Sellers are also responsible for ensuring that the listing, sale, and provision of products on TikTok Shop comply with applicable laws and regulations at all times.
Product Recalls
Products may be recalled over safety concerns or defects, either voluntarily or involuntarily. For example, a manufacturer may decide to recall a product voluntarily after learning about a potential safety issue. A recall can also be ordered by a government agency, such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Sellers are not allowed to sell recalled products on the TikTok Shop. If TikTok Shop receives notice of a recall, it will remove the recalled item as stated in our TikTok Shop Prohibited Products Policy. TikTok Shop will also, where possible, notify customers who purchased a product subject to a recall. Any such notification is not intended to alleviate the need for a recall, nor does it relieve sellers or manufacturers from any obligations they have under the applicable laws and regulations related to their products.

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that the listing, sale, and provision of products on TikTok Shop complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including any prohibitions on the sale of recalled products:
Enforcement Actions
TikTok Shop monitors and, where necessary, investigates and acts on reported safety complaints and incidents to help protect customers from risks of injury related to products sold on TikTok Shop. We may temporarily or permanently suspend your selling account if you are involved in violations of TikTok Shop policies. We may audit product listings at any time and take enforcement actions against sellers who violate our policies. Here are some of the enforcement actions we may take:
TikTok Shop may also take further enforcement actions against a seller based on the severity or frequency of their violations.
Appeal
TikTok Shop reserves the right to report sellers who violate international, federal, state, or local laws and regulations to the necessary legal authorities. Sellers who believe their products were removed in error may submit a ticket through Seller Center to review the restriction. We will investigate the case and take corrective actions where applicable.
