Submit The Right Product Certification In The Correct Format
Not all healthcare products require product certification. All you need to do is head to the Manage Products page in Seller Center and start listing them. But if you want to list any of the products that fall under the Vitamins and Supplements category, you'll need to submit certification. Read our Dietary Supplements page for more information on what documents TikTok Shop requires and the specific requirements for each of them.What To Do When Listing Dietary Supplements With Weight Management Claims
TikTok Shop allows the sale of select dietary supplements that do not make claims about weight gain, weight loss, etc.These include:
- Apple cider vinegar supplements
- Meal replacement drinks, such as high calorie meal replacements, nutrient-rich powders or drinks, low calorie meal replacements, meal replacement bars
- Skin toning creams, gels, and lotions
- Protein supplement products, such as protein bars, protein drinks, protein powders, mass gainers, amino-acid supplements
- Body shaping and wearable products for figure control and shaping, such as shapewear, exercise equipment, muscle suits, corsets, leggings
- Books or publishing related to weight-related tips and guidance
- Implying that muscle gain can be achieved without exercise or physical effort
- Suggesting that using a particular product will definitely result in increased muscle gain
- Indicating that any weight gained or lost from using the product will be permanent
- Suggesting targeted weight gain or loss to specific parts of the body
- Images with before-and-after comparisons of muscle size, or weight gain or loss
- Images that show drastic changes in body shapes or physiques
- Images with arrows, outlines, over-sized clothes or other indicators pointing to growth or shrinkage of certain parts of the body
- Images that emphasize idealized body shapes or styles, or muscle forms
Avoid Listing Prohibited Products
In general, TikTok Shop doesn't allow the following types of products:- Products that are banned by local, state, or federal regulations
- Products that use ‘GLP’ or any variation of it in their branding or product title
- Products that claim to have medical applications but have yet to be approved as such by the FDA
- Products that have been named in an FDA recall or safety alert
- Products that contain ingredients that are banned by local, state, or federal regulations
- Products that are not packaged, labeled or intended for retail sale in the US
