This policy outlines TikTok Shop's product safety requirements for our sellers, and what our sellers must do when we receive reports about safety complaints and incidents.

Seller's Duty To Ensure Customer Safety

In accordance with the Seller Terms of Service, we require that you and the products you sell comply with applicable product safety laws and regulations. We therefore require that you ensure the following at all times:
  • Your products are safe for their intended consumer's use
  • You regularly audit your products to ensure their performance or functions meet relevant regulatory and industry safety standards
  • You proactively address any safety concerns raised by your customers, whether through product reviews or other channels

Product Safety Issues

In the event of reported safety complaints or incidents from your customers, we may take any of the following actions:
  • Review the relevant product listing and any content within or associated with it.
  • Temporarily or permanently suspend the product listing to prevent further risk to your customers. If applicable, we will notify you through Seller Center if we do so, with instructions on how you may reinstate the product listing.
  • Contact you for more information or documentation.
  • Report product safety concerns to relevant government agencies.

Seller's Duty To Provide Information

You must promptly act on our requests for information about the products you're selling. This may require you to engage the product's manufacturer, or your suppliers or importers to obtain necessary documentation. We may take enforcement actions if we do not receive the information we request or we do not receive it in a timely manner.

Enforcement Actions

We constantly review your shop's compliance with this policy. We may take enforcement actions if your shop violates this policy. These include:
  • Sending you a warning message to take immediate corrective actions
  • Freezing the relevant product listing
  • Deducting from your seller account balance to cover any losses or damages
  • Temporarily suspending or permanently deactivating your TikTok Shop account
