This policy outlines the requirements you must meet to sell Electronic Products on our platform.

Electronic Products

This policy applies to the following types of electronic products:
  • Automotive and Motorcycle Products
(Car electronics and accessories, electrical components, vehicle lighting, battery components, switches and sensors, motorhome electrical parts, etc.)
  • Computer and Office Equipment
(Keyboards and mice, laptop accessories, data storage and software products, computer monitor accessories, desktop computers and laptops, network components, printers and scanners, etc.)
  • Electronic Beauty and Personal Care Devices
(Facial beauty devices, electronic makeup tools, personal care appliances, etc.)
  • Electronic Home Improvement Products
(Lighting, power supply, security alarms, smart home systems, etc.)
  • Electronic Home Supplies
(Bathroom gadgets, hand dryers, decorative lights, clocks, digital photo frames, etc.)
  • Electronic Kitchenware
(Electric knife sharpeners, outdoor electric barbecues, etc.)
  • Electronic Pet Supplies
(Electric grooming accessories, pet hair dryers, habitat lighting, etc.)
  • Electronic Toys
(Electric and remote control toys, karaoke machines, dance mats, lighting baby clocks, etc.)

Requirements to Sell Electronic Products

You must pass a category qualification process to sell electronic products on our platform. This process requires you to submit documentation proving you are qualified to sell electronic products. Once you pass the process, you can sell these products on our platform.

Electronic Children's Products or Refurbished Electronic Products may require you to submit additional documentation before you can list them.

Documentation Requirements for Manufacturers, Importers, And Repackers

If you are applying to sell electronic products you manufactured, imported, or repacked, you must submit the following documents and samples:

1. Certification of Compliance or Conformity (COC)

Manufacturers, importers, and repackers must provide a Certification of Compliance or Conformity (COC) that meets the following requirements:
  • Issued within the past 2 years
  • Matches the product category you intend to sell
  • Includes a clear description and details of the product tested
  • Lists all safety standards tested
  • Includes the name and address of the accredited laboratory
  • The product described must match the product photos provided

2. Product or Packaging Image

Manufacturers, importers, and repackers must provide an image of the product or its packaging that shows a valid Product Electrical Safety Marking and FCC Safety Marking (required for products with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi functions).
  • The safety marking may be a sticker or embossed directly on the product
  • The marking may appear on the packaging, either printed directly or applied as a sticker
  • Double-stickering is not allowed
  • The label must be securely affixed. It must lay flat, with no creases or peeling edges

Documentation Requirements for Resellers

If you are applying to sell electronic products as a reseller, you must submit the following documents and samples:

1. Purchase Invoice

Resellers must submit a purchase invoice issued by the product's manufacturer. The purchase invoice must be legible and meet all of the following requirements:
  • The purchase invoice must include the product supplier's company name and address
  • The purchase invoice must clearly describe an electronic product that matches what will be listed on TikTok Shop
  • The purchase invoice must be issued within the last 365 days
  • The purchase invoice must be in a language supported by TikTok

2. Product or Packaging Image

Resellers must provide an image of the product or its packaging that shows a valid Product Electrical Safety Marking and FCC Safety Marking (required for products with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi functions).
  • The safety marking may be a sticker or embossed directly on the product
  • The marking may appear on the packaging, either printed directly or applied as a sticker

Electronic Children's Products

Electronic Children’s Products require additional documentation, which may include a Children’s Product Certificate, a Sample Tracking Label, and a test report (depending on your seller type). For full details, refer to Documents Required to Sell Toys and Hobby Products.

Smart Earphones and Headphones

Smart earphones and headphones are ear devices that offer advanced features through a third-party app. This category is available by invitation only. Invited sellers may need to submit the documentation mentioned above based on their seller type.
The pathway to list smart earphones and headphones is Phones & Electronics > Audio & Video > Headphones, Earphones & Accessories > Smart Earphones & Headphones.

Requirements for Smart Earphones and Headphones

Approved sellers must ensure the product meets functionality, quality, listing, and packaging standards.

Functional Features

Smart earphones and headphones must support at least one of the following via a third-party app:
  • Translation Functions (real-time or simultaneous translation), which must:
    • Have a delay under 3 seconds
    • Not require the other party to install any software
    • Support bidirectional translation for all listed languages
  • Voice Interaction, which may include:
    • Voice control
    • Smart assistant integration
    • Real-time speech-to-text
  • Health Monitoring, which may include:
    • Fitness tracking
    • Sleep monitoring
    • Heart rate monitoring

Product Quality

  • All included components (earphones/headphones, cables, adapters) must function properly, with buttons and ports operating smoothly and effectively.
  • Bluetooth connection must be reliable for both earpieces across common devices, reconnect automatically after restarts, maintain stable audio and calls without lag or disconnection, support at least a 10-meter range, and maintain audio-video sync during gaming.
  • Battery life must meet or exceed stated specifications or support at least 3 hours of continuous playback if unspecified.
  • The product must withstand simulated drops without visible damage or functional impairment.
  • Both left and right channels must work without volume imbalance or crosstalk.
  • Earphones and headphones must be comfortable to wear under normal usage.
  • Active Noise Cancellation, if claimed, must provide at least 9 dB noise reduction and perform as advertised.

Listing and Packaging

  • Product titles, descriptions, and attributes must clearly disclose that a third-party app is required for smart features, including clear instructions for downloading and using the app. The app must be free to use.
    • Example: "ABC Chat requires downloading the ABC App; functionalities require app connection to work."
  • Short videos or live demos must demonstrate how to use the app.
  • Marketing claims must be accurate and not misleading, with disclaimers where necessary. Examples include:
    • "Performance may vary based on large language model capabilities; not intended for use in professional mental health services."
    • "Chat assistance responses are sample scenarios; actual use may differ due to context, software version, etc."
    • "All data shown are theoretical values from controlled lab tests; actual usage may vary."
  • Packaging must prominently state that app installation is required for smart functionality, either on the external packaging or via a clearly visible insert card inside the box. Including this information only in the manual is insufficient.

Refurbished Electronic Products

This section outlines the specific requirements for selling refurbished electronics such as:
  • Refurbished laptops
  • Refurbished mobile phones
  • Refurbished tablets
  • Refurbished smartwatches
Refurbished electronic products are pre-owned electronic products that have been repaired and restored to a condition to be resold. These products must have a release date within the last 7 years to be eligible.Not all sellers and products are eligible to list products in the refurbished electronics category. For example, children's products are not allowed in refurbished categories. All refurbished electronic products must include "Refurbished", the product's brand, and the device condition in the product listing title and description.

Documentation Requirements for Refurbished Electronic Products

Eligible sellers must submit the following documents:

1. Purchase Invoice

  • The purchase invoice must include the product supplier's company name and address
  • The purchase invoice must clearly describe an electronic product that matches what will be listed on TikTok Shop

  • The purchase invoice must be in a language supported by TikTok Shop

2. Diagnostic and Erasure Report(s)

Sellers must provide diagnostic and erasure reports from one of these accepted providers: Phonecheck, Blancco, and Blackbelt. The reports may be separated or combined into a document but they must clearly show:
  • Qualified provider's official name or logo
  • Device information such as:
    • Manufacturer's name
    • Device operating system
    • Device serial number
    • Device model number
  • Erasure or data wipe details
  • Diagnostic report from a device history analysis displaying any of the following results:
    • No scratches on the screen
    • No signs of cosmetic damage from 12 inches away
    • Premium condition: minimum 90% battery health
    • Excellent condition: minimum 80% battery health

Enforcement Actions and Appeals

Products that claim to be safe for electrical use but lack proper testing or recognition from electrical safety or FCC laboratories—or are inaccurately or fraudulently labeled—are considered in violation of this policy.
We regularly review your shop’s compliance with this policy. If any violations are identified, TikTok Shop may take enforcement action at our sole discretion. This may include rejecting your category qualification application, assigning violation points, or removing product listings. How to Submit Your Documentation

Submit your documentation through the Qualification Center in Seller Center by clicking here or following the steps below:
  1. Log into your Seller Center account.
  2. Click your shop icon in the top right corner.
  3. Go to My Account > Account Settings.
  4. Select Qualification Center.
  5. Click on Category Qualification.
  6. Click Add Category Authorization and follow the prompts to submit your application.

How To Address A Category Qualification Rejection

If your application is rejected, you’ll receive a message explaining the reason. Most rejections are due to missing documentation. It's important to review this policy and ensure you are submitting all documentation and the requirements associated with them.
You can view your rejection message by:
  • Clicking the bell icon at the top of your Seller Center homepage to go to your inbox
  • Opening the rejected application in the Qualification Center.
To re-apply:
  1. Go to the Qualification Center, then click Category Qualification.
  2. Click the rejected category to view the rejection reason.
  3. Review the related category policy to confirm what’s needed
  4. Update or replace your documentation to meet the category’s requirements.
  5. Click Resubmit to submit your revised application.
