Restricted Products Policy

Key Points:
  • To sell restricted products, you must meet specific qualification requirements—either at the category level or product level.
  • Approval is not guaranteed; TikTok Shop may request additional documentation at any time during the listing process or while the product is live.
This policy outlines the requirements you must meet to sell restricted products on our platform.

Restricted Products

To sell restricted products, you must meet certain qualification requirements. There are three levels:
  • Category Level Qualification: You must submit documentation to sell within a category of products. Once the seller passes the category qualification process, they can list any products within that category.
  • Product Level Qualification: You must provide documentation for each product they want to sell within a particular category.
  • Invite-Only Qualification: Select qualified sellers are invited into selling certain categories. You can apply for access to sell these categories through the category qualification process.
TikTok Shop reserves the right to request additional documentation during the product approval process.

Category Level Qualification

The following types of products require category level qualification. To view the qualification requirements, refer to the following policies:

Product Level Qualification

The remaining categories require product level qualification. Sellers who do not meet the requirements listed below are prohibited from listing those restricted products on TikTok Shop.

Invite-Only Qualification

The following categories are only permitted on TikTok Shop through an invite-only process.

Enforcement Actions and Appeals

We regularly review your shop’s compliance with this policy. If any violations are identified, TikTok Shop may take enforcement action at our sole discretion. This may include rejecting your category qualification application, assigning violation points, or removing product listings. For more information on enforcement actions, refer to our Seller Enforcement Policy.
If you'd like to appeal an enforcement action, visit the Appeals section of our Seller Enforcement Policy for guidance on how to proceed.
