Pesticides Requirements
This document outlines the requirements for selling pesticides and related products regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on TikTok Shop. These rules exist to ensure seller compliance with federal law and to maintain a safe shopping environment. - To sell Pesticides, you may need to submit documentation through the Qualification Center. Requirements vary depending on your role as a seller.
- Depending on the type of pesticide, EPA Registration and Establishment Numbers may be required.

Pesticides and related products are also subject to our Restricted Products Policy. Sellers must comply with both this document and the Restricted Products Policy when listing pesticides and related products.
Pesticides
A product may be considered a pesticide if it contains or is intended to use any substance or mixture of substances to:- Prevent, destroy, repel, or mitigate any pest
- Function as a plant regulator, defoliant, or desiccant
- Act as a nitrogen stabilizer

EPA Labeling Requirements
Pesticides regulated by the EPA must display specific information on their labels, including:- The EPA Registration Number and, when applicable, the EPA Establishment Number
- The active ingredients listed on the product label
- The child safety statement: "Keep Out of Reach of Children"
- Any other warnings or precautionary statements required by the EPA

Types of pesticide products

You may be required to pass category qualification to sell Pesticides. This process requires submitting documents proving you are qualified to sell these products.Detailed requirements are listed in the sections below. Open each section to view what is needed.
Manufacturers and Importers
If you are applying to sell pesticides or other products requiring an EPA label that you manufactured or imported, you may be required to submit the following:

EPA Registration and Establishment Numbers
Conventional pesticides must:
- Be registered with the EPA at the product level (EPA Registration Number).
- Be produced in an EPA-registered facility (EPA Establishment Number).
Pesticide devices must:
- Be produced in an EPA-registered facility (EPA Establishment Number).
Product and Packaging Images
- EPA Registration Number (for conventional pesticides)
- EPA Establishment Number (for conventional pesticides and pesticide devices)
- All active ingredients listed on the label
- The required child safety statement: “Keep Out of Reach of Children”
- For electrical products, include:
- Product Electrical Safety Marking
- FCC Safety Marking, if the product includes Bluetooth or Wi-Fi functions
- Markings must be printed directly on the packaging or applied as a flat, non-peeling sticker as part of the assembled product.
- No double stickering allowed.
- Stickers must lie flat with no creases or peeling edges.
Certification of Compliance or Conformity (COC) (for electrical products)
- Issued within the last 2 years
- Matches the product category you intend to sell
- Clearly describes the tested product, including detailed specifications
- Tested to US EPA standards
- Includes the name and address of the accredited testing laboratory
- The product described in the report must match the product shown in the photos
Resellers
If you are applying to sell products that require an EPA label as a reseller, you may be required to submit the following documents:
Resellers may be required to submit a legible purchase invoice issued by the product’s manufacturer. The invoice must meet all of the following requirements:
Resellers may be required to submit clear, unaltered images of the product and its packaging, showing:

- Includes the supplier’s company name and address
- Clearly describes the product being listed on TikTok Shop
- Be issued within the last 365 days
- Be written in a language supported by TikTok Shop

- EPA Registration Number (for conventional pesticides)
- EPA Establishment Number (for conventional pesticides and pesticide devices)
- All active ingredients listed on the label
- The required child safety statement: “Keep Out of Reach of Children”
- For electrical products, include:

EPA Listing Requirements
Sellers must ensure:- Submitted information must match the EPA database and your product label.
- All required EPA documents and full label details must be provided.
- All documents must be clear, readable, and in English.
- All documents must be original and unaltered from the manufacturer or brand owner.
EPA Listing Questionnaire Prompts
When listing products in relevant categories, you will be asked:"Is your product a pesticide?"
- If Yes → You must provide the required EPA Registration and/or Establishment Numbers.
- If No → These fields are optional. Listings will still be reviewed for pesticide-related claims.
Enforcement Actions and Appeals
Claiming electrical safety without approved testing or certification violates these requirements. Tests and certifications must come from recognized electrical safety or FCC laboratories. Products are also in violation if they have inaccurate or fraudulent labeling.We regularly review your shop’s compliance with this document and our Restricted Products Policy. If any violations are identified, TikTok Shop may take enforcement action at our sole discretion. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Rejecting your category qualification application
- Deducting points from your account health
- Removing product listings
Compliance Checklist
Before listing your products, ensure you have met the following requirements:- For conventional pesticides, your product has a valid EPA Registration Number.
- For conventional pesticides and pesticide devices, your product is produced in an EPA-registered facility and has a valid EPA Establishment Number.
- All product and packaging images clearly show the required EPA numbers, active ingredients, and child safety warnings.
- All submitted documentation is clear, unaltered, and matches the product you are listing.
