Electric Bikes and Scooters

The following Electric Bikes and Scooters are allowed to be sold on our platform.
  • Electric Bikes
  • Electric Scooters, Electric Unicycles, and Electric Skateboards
In order to sell these, you must submit product-specific documentation.

Requirements To Sell Electric Bikes and Scooters

You are required to submit product-specific documentation in order to sell Electric Bikes and Scooters.

Electric Bikes

❗️Only lithium-ion cell batteries are allowed for electric bikes sold on TikTok Shop.
To list electric bikes, you must submit the following documentation:
  1. Certification of Compliance or Conformity (COC)

Sellers must provide a valid COC compliant with ANSI/CAN/UL 2849. It must be issued by an ISO-17025 accredited laboratory. The certificate must:
  • Include the product name and issue date
  • Match the manufacturer's name
  • Match the model number to the product
  • Be signed
  • Clearly identify the certification body
If submitting a General Certificate of Conformity that is issued by the manufacturer or importer, ensure it demonstrates compliance with 16 CFR Part 1512

Sellers must submit clear images confirming the product matches the tested model and meets e-mobility labeling requirements, including:
  • Holographic ANSI/CAN/UL 2849 compliance mark

Enforcement Actions and Appeals

Claiming electrical safety without approved testing or certification violates this policy. Tests and certifications must come from recognized electrical safety or FCC laboratories. Products are also in violation if they have inaccurate or fraudulent labeling.
We regularly review your shop’s compliance with this policy. If any violations are identified, TikTok Shop may take enforcement action at our sole discretion. This may include, but is not limited to:
  • Rejecting your application
  • Deducting points from your account health
  • Removing product listings

How do I submit my documents?
  1. Log into Seller Center.
  2. Select Products > Add Products.
  3. Select Add product. Begin entering your product information, category, images, description, details, etc.
  4. Fill out the Product Compliance section and submit your documents.

  5. Once all information has been added (including shipping information), select Submit for review.
What kind of batteries can be sold with Electric Bikes and Scooters?
  • Only lithium-ion cell batteries are allowed.
  • Lead-acid batteries are prohibited.
  • Lithium-ion batteries packed separately must not exceed 30 kg (66 lbs).
Are there shipping requirements for these batteries?
  • Ground shipments:
    • Max lithium-ion cell: 60 Wh
    • Max lithium-ion battery: 300 Wh
    • Max lithium metal cell: 5 g
    • Max lithium metal battery: 25 g
  • Air shipments:
    • Max lithium-ion cell: 20 Wh
    • Max lithium-ion battery: 100 Wh
    • Max lithium metal cell: 1 g
    • Max lithium metal battery: 2 g
Sellers must comply with these limits when shipping to customers.
