FAQs

Questions
Answers
  1. What's the difference between customer purchase limits and the purchase limits for promotions?
For customer purchase limits, once the limit has been reached by a buyer or an order, additional units can no longer be purchased. If a purchase limit is created only within the promotional tool, once a buyer has purchased the limit, additional units can still be purchased, but not at the promotional rate.
  1. Can I configure all three purchase limits (minimum, maximum, and total) simultaneously?
Yes, you can set all three limits at the same time. The system will automatically validate them to ensure they are configured correctly: Minimum Limit is less than or equal to Maximum Limit is less than or equal to Total Limit
  1. Can I modify the purchase limit settings after they are configured?
Yes, purchase limits can be adjusted at any time. If you make changes to minimum and maximum limits, these changes are effective immediately and apply to all new orders based on the updated rules. If you make changes to the total limit, the following changes will take effect based on the customer's purchase history:
  • If you increase the limit: Customers can purchase more items based on the new limit.
  • If you decrease the limit: If previous purchases exceed the new limit, no further purchases are allowed.
Clearing the limit: Removes all restrictions. If reinstated, previous purchases are not included in the new limit.
  1. Can I put purchase restrictions on variants/ different SKUs?
No, the purchase restriction is set at the product level and is not set at the variant level. For example, if the limit is set to 3 items, it applies to all sizes (S, M, L) of a T-shirt equally. You cannot set different limits for specific SKUs, such as 3 for size S and 1 for size L.
  1. Can purchase limits be set for all products?
No, purchase limits cannot be set for the following types of products:
  • Gift-with-purchase (for livestream)
  • Not-for-Sale
  • Bundles
  • Combined listings
  • Flash sale
  • Pre-order items
  1. Can Marketing (Promotional) Purchase Restrictions and SKU Purchase Limits be configured together?
Yes, they can be used simultaneously. Here’s an example:
  • If a product has a marketing purchase restriction of 2 and a maximum customer purchase limit of 3:
    • The customer can buy 2 items at the discounted (marketing) price.
    • Additionally, they can buy 1 item at the regular price, reaching the maximum limit of 3 items.
    • Once the total limit of 3 is reached, no further purchases are allowed, regardless of price.
  1. If a user cancels an order, can they purchase the restricted item again?
Yes, the purchase limit resets under the following conditions:
  • Order Canceled: If a customer buys 3 items (reaching the limit) and cancels the order, the limit resets after the cancellation is processed. The customer can then purchase another 3 items.
  • Return and Refund: If a customer returns an item and the refund is processed, the limit resets after the return process is completed. They can then purchase it up to the limit again.
