How It Works

• Login to Shopify, go to your TikTok for Shopify app, and connect your social account
• Toggle on "Auto Post photos to TikTok"

Visit the "Manage synced photos" page to manage this feature

1. To Get Started:
   1. Connect Your Social Account Head to your Shop Settings in the TikTok for Shopify app. Under the "Shoppable content" tab, find "Platforms synced from" and click "Add new platforms" to connect your account*.

*Heads up: it takes about 3 business days to verify your social account. Your details will be used for account management and essential communications. Please check that your information is correct. We will only sync your content from the previous 12 months.

2. Configure Your Auto-Post Settings Navigate to TikTok for Shopify app > Shop Settings > Shoppable content. Here, you can toggle the feature on/off and set your daily post limit and preferred posting time.
   1. You can toggle on/off the "Auto-post photos to TikTok" feature. You may opt-out of this feature at any time. To do so, simply toggle off the feature.
   2. You can customize how many posts you want to go out per day (default is 5) and set a preferred posting time (default is 12:00 PM PT).
      

2. To Manage: Visit the "Manage synced photos" page to view your content categorized by status - Scheduled, Ready to Post, Posted, or Failed.
   
   1. Manual Refinement: You can edit captions, hashtags, and product links for any individual post before it goes live.
      
   2. Bulk Actions: Multi-select posts to manage at scale, such as publishing a group of posts at once or deleting content you no longer need.
3. Product/Shop Tagging & Automated Mapping: Sit back and let the system work. We sync your images, captions, and hashtags automatically.
   1. If the original post has a product tag, we look for that matching Product ID in your TikTok Shop and create an anchor link.
      1. Product name < 30 characters: Anchor link = Product name
      2. Product name > 30 characters: Anchor link = "Buy Now"
   2. If the original post has no product tags or you want to tag your shop instead, we can automatically attach a Shop anchor link to ensure your shoppers are routed to your TikTok Shop page. See here for eligibility requirements.

• Curate Your Queue: While auto-posting is great, take a peek at your "Scheduled" tab occasionally. You can reorder posts to align with current TikTok trends or specific sales campaigns you are running.
• Customize Your Anchor Links: You can add up to 10 products in a collection, a specific product detail page for a singular product, or your TikTok Shop page. If your original post had more than 20 product tags, we will prioritize the products that exist in your TikTok catalog first.
• Music Matters: Your photos are converted into formats with auto-selected sounds from our approved music bank.

FAQ

1. Who is this product for?

2. How much historical content does TikTok Shop pull from my social account?

We currently sync the most recent 30 days of posts from your account at the time of account authorization. Older content beyond this window will not be synced.

3. How long does it take for my Instagram posts to sync to TikTok Shop?

The initial synchronization process can take up to 5 business days:

• 2–3 business days for account verification.
• 2 business days to pull historical data from the past 30 days.

After the initial setup, newly published Instagram posts will typically sync within 2 days.

4. Is the Auto-Publish feature enabled by default?

No. Auto-publish is set to OFF by default. You can enable it manually in your settings whenever you are ready.

5. What should I know before enabling Auto-Publish?

The auto-publish feature currently performs a direct 1:1 copy of your Instagram content. Please keep the following limitations in mind:

• No deduplication: Repeated or similar content will not be automatically filtered out.
• No caption edits: Post captions cannot be modified during or after the synchronization process.
• Shop anchors do not auto-map to products: If your Instagram post includes a general shop anchor, it will still appear as a TikTok Shop anchor after syncing. It will not automatically match or map to specific products in your TikTok Shop catalog.

6. How do product tags get mapped to TikTok Shop?

Mapping means we first identify the products tagged in your social content and then match them to the equivalent products in TikTok Shop, assuming you already listed those products on TikTok Shop (TTS). After syncing and posting the content to TTS, only products that are listed on TikTok Shop will be tagged. (Note: This applies specifically to product tags. General shop anchors will remain as shop anchors and will not auto-map to products.)

7. Can we add Shop tags on TikTok Shop?

Yes! Shop tags are supported for your posts. To be able to use the Shop anchor link, your shop must meet the following criteria:
a. Your post is uploaded to your official TikTok account (marketing accounts are not eligible at this time).
b. Your TikTok account must be linked to your Shop account.
c. You must have a minimum of 10 active products on your Shop account.

8. How many posts will be published per day?

By default, the system publishes 5 posts per day to avoid spamming your followers. However, you are in the driver's seat—you can adjust this setting in your configuration to post anywhere from 1 to 20 posts per day.

9. Can I choose my own music?

Currently, the audio is auto-selected from our approved music bank. However, we are hard at work expanding our customization features!

10. I connected my account and enabled auto-posting, but nothing has been posted to my TikTok account. Can you help me understand what happened?

There are several reasons why syncing may not have been activated. Currently, we only support syncing photo posts that include product tags, and those tagged products must also be actively listed in TikTok Shop. In the future, once Shop tags become available for all syncs, we will be able to support syncing a broader range of posts to TikTok.
