TikTok for Shopify - Auto Post Shoppable videos
12/05/2025
Summary
What is the automatic video sync and auto-publish feature for TikTok Shop merchants using Shopify, and how does it work?
- This feature automatically syncs eligible Shoppable Videos from Shopify to a linked TikTok Shop account and auto-publishes 1-2 videos daily by default, based on a customizable posting schedule including time, frequency, and time zone.
- Videos sync once only, link to active products, and prevent duplicates across multiple TikTok Shop accounts; syncing is continuous for new eligible videos.
What are the eligibility requirements and key rules merchants must follow to use auto-sync and auto-publish for Shoppable Videos?
- Videos must comply with TikTok Shop’s responsible business, safety, community content, product compliance, and product eligibility guidelines; videos linked to products already having a video won’t sync again.
- Merchants must link their TikTok Shop account before enabling auto-sync; otherwise, auto-posting remains disabled and a prompt appears to complete account binding.
How can merchants set up, customize, and manage their auto-sync and auto-publish settings for TikTok Shop videos?
- Setup involves linking TikTok Shop in Shopify’s TikTok App, enabling Auto-Publish Videos, and configuring daily video count, posting times, and time zone under Shop Management → Shop Settings → Videos.
- Videos can be managed via Shop Management → Shoppable Video → Manage Videos, where merchants can edit captions, hashtags, schedule times, publish immediately, or bulk edit eligible videos (not published ones).
What should merchants know about managing video statuses, editing restrictions, and troubleshooting within the auto-publish system?
- Videos have statuses like Posted, Scheduled, Ready to Post, Not Eligible, or Upload Failed; only Scheduled or Ready to Post videos can be edited, while published videos cannot.
- If a video upload fails, hovering over the error tooltip reveals the issue; merchants should ensure correct time zone settings to avoid posting delays and can pause auto-posting anytime by disabling the feature.
What are the implications or benefits of using the auto-sync and auto-publish feature for TikTok Shop sellers?
- Automating video posting saves time, ensures consistent content flow, and helps maintain engagement by scheduling posts at optimal times without manual intervention.
- The feature’s gradual rollout means some merchants may not see it immediately; linking accounts and following guidelines early prepares sellers to leverage this tool fully once available.
